Cabin Fever Carving Original jewelry and sculpture in bone, antler and wood. I am a jeweler and sculptor who carves original designs from a variety of natural materials.

My carving career began with duck decoys. I was exposed to the techniques of traditional ivory carving while living in Canada's north, and my recent work focuses on antler and bone, alone and in combination with other materials. I enjoy the artistic challenge presented by the structure and dimensions of these renewable resources. The blend of the traditional and modern, both in terms of technique

and material, is a constant inspiration. Nature is my favourite subject matter, but I also explore the joy of movement in the human form. My work ranges from traditional representative to a more free-flowing expression. While I remain devoted to my sculptural pieces, I also appreciate the spontaneity and accessibility of my jewelry creations. I trace my strong environmental ethic to my degree in biology and my work as a National Park Warden and Environment Officer. I have lived and worked in Newfoundland, the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, and Manitoba, but recently returned to my birthplace of Prince Edward Island. I now live with my husband and our dog in a lovely old Island farmhouse. My workshop is only steps from the kitchen door.

Wild Spirit.
As sometimes happens, my search for music for this post led me to the title of the sculpture. Wild Spirit is an eagle carved from deer antler and mounted on an old pressed back chairback. 15” x 5”.

Having this sculpture commissioned as a gift for HRM King Charles III was a great honour and a huge compliment. Victoria Day weekend seemed like a good time to make this post.

The Lieutenant Governor of PEI requested a carving that would represent our coastal life and reflect the environmental ethic of reimagining vintage and byproduct materials as art.

The whale and maple leaf are carved from local sourced beef bone and are mounted in an up-cycled, vintage 8” x 10” frame. It was presented to King Charles in the fall of 2025.

Charlottetown Farmers Market Co-operative Pausing Restoration Plans

Charlottetown, PEI–March 31, 2026

The Charlottetown Farmers’ Market Co-operative Ltd. has paused its restoration plans of its location at 100 Belvedere Avenue to better understand the status and future of the federal land on which it operates. This pause will allow the organization to engage with stakeholders and clarify land ownership, and long-term security before proceeding. This pause was initiated after consultation with the federal government and their representatives, and to better understand the path forward.

If it becomes clear that the Charlottetown Farmers Market is unable to rebuild and can not secure long-term tenancy, we are exploring the possibility of moving the farmers market to a new location. Our goals would be to have the ability to secure stable ownership or tenancy, expand, and better serve the needs of our vendors, patrons and community.

The market remains committed to its mission of a co-op market where local farmers, makers and artisans can sell their locally created goods in a community-oriented, sustainable and forward-thinking environment, for members, vendors and customers. To continue this mission into the future we see this pause as a necessary step to ensure any future development is built on a stable and well-defined foundation.

Please join us at our temporary location at 614 North River Road every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm - your support during this challenging time is more important than ever.
