Cow parsley season & I’m looking forward to zipping through the cow parsley laden hedgerows of Cornwall next week with the family. A bit of sun, sea & scrumpy is just what’s needed to invigorate me after 2 weeks of a flu type bug, possibly Covid? & a serious need to get off my phone. Two weeks of doom scrolling whilst I’ve been laid up has done nothing to convince me I’m missing anything on insta these days. Anyone else with me on that? It feels as though there’s nothing new, nothing I’ve not seen before & if anyone else makes a video showing me how to wear a denim jacket over a plain tshirt & call it styling again, I think it might be game over for me & this app {call me old fashioned but in my day this was just called getting dressed}🙄Yep a break is definitely needed 😩

As soon as I saw this large colourful post impressionist French portrait painting of a farm girl, it reminded me of the work of Paul Gauguin with its large bold subject & non naturalist colour palette.
It’s certainly a statement piece. Simply framed in an unadorned wooden frame. Measurements are 57cm W x 63cm H.
The simplistic style makes this piece perfect for either a contemporary or more traditional interior. Online & available on my website now.

As an interior stylist details matter so much to me. As an antique dealer also, to find a hotel that’s a 16th Century palazzo completely decorated using antiques & vintage but with so much attention to the detail it’s the dream 😍 was that place 👌🏻

We found this amazing flea market in Florence 🇮🇹
Despite the rain I managed to find a few lovely items to bring home but there were a few larger paintings I’d loved to have been able to bring back & maybe if the sun had shone it would have been a bigger market.

A 20th Century Vintage gold leaf decorative Florentine Madonna Wooden plaque with typical Florentine punch work patterns on the frame.

There are some signs of age to the bottom part of the plaque consistent with it’s age.

Measurements are 40cm H x 24cm W x 3cm D.

This piece was found by me recently at Santa Spirito Flea market in Florence.

A 19th Century antique portrait painting man with pipe oil on canvas.

The canvas has some signs of wear consistent with it’s age but no damage.

Measurements are 30cm W x 38cm H.

Smoking a pipe was very much a middle class pastime during this period & favoured by artisan types such as William Morris. I have actually just bought an ebonised wood & copper arts & crafts smoking cupboard which was used for storing pipes & to***co & I’ll be listing this soon so keep your eyes peeled if that’s something of interest?
