We just returned from the Barra Nationals on the mighty Daly River. The Banyan Farm - Daly River was hit hard with a lot of the river edge washed away (30metres I believe) from the recent wet season floods. What an awesome effort to Kerri, Wally, Russ and the crew to get the venue to a great standard. The boat ramp had to have a lot of work on it to become useable and in the end was fantastic. With 50 teams having to launch and retrieve each day many of us believed it would be a long wait as the pontoons had all been washed away.
To everyone's credit the launch and retrieve of boats was very well managed.
As for Team Reidys Schneider we ended up 21st and we caught our bag of 5 Barra everyday, but we lost a lot of barra (especially teammate Paul Moran lol). Our most successful lures were the Akame Guppy's in sizes 120, 150 and 200mm, B52's, Judges and Schneider braid and leader. A great tournament with great team mates.
It was great to see so many teams using our products Reidys Lures, Schneider fishing lines and Akame Tackle.
Thanks must go to my wife Karen for holding the fort at work whilst I was out working, special thanks to the crew at Banyan Farm, Kerri, Wally, Russ and all their volunteers (Stu and Chris were unbelievable). Bec, Lynne and Darryl thanks for one of the best Barra Nationals under trying circumstances.
Thanks Clinton (Cookie) and his crew for the awesome meals!!!!!
To all competitors thanks for an awesome week with great banter especially from our "sister team" Team Akame.
Congratulations to all the winners.
Congrats to the Reidys Lures overall Biggest Barra to Dylan ODonnell for his 115cm capture but also a 110cm barra. Dylan was using 40lb braid and Schneider 70lb leader.
Thanks to all our supporters

These beauties have been tested and great results mainly on Murray Cod and Barra.

Craig "Lats" Latimore sent in an email about his recent trip fishing the 1st round of the Top End Barra Series TEBS at Shady Camp last weekend.
Lats landed the biggest Barra for the comp measuring 106cm and caught using a Big Ass B52 in Rocky Road colour. Lats also uses Braid and Leader.

I ventured to Shady Camp last week with a group of mates, Micky Spring Tide Safaris , Miro (retired or tired), Ray from Raysea Marine and Michael (The Joker)
Reports I had heard from Micky and other guides was that the fishing was great previously, so with great expectations we hit the water.
First stop was to drop our gear off with Kev Adventures at Sea - Mantaray staying 3 nights on the Mantaray mothership. What a fantastic mothership and it was so good to be positioned near the mouth of Shady.
We fished Sampan, Tommycutt and coastal creeks for the 3 days and whilst it didn't set the world on fire as far as catching lots of barra we had a ball landing 31 for the 3 days. Obviously many lost near the boat but as we all know thats fishing. I held the title for biggest barra up until late Thursday caught on a 150mm Guppy but then Miro trolling a Big B52 in Tropical Thunder colour (same lure I was using) got slammed which at the same time I did. We first thought it was a double hook up but with both of us fighting the fish we could see we were tangled but couldn't see who's lure it was in the mouth. Once in the net I could see Miro's leader was connected to the successful lure (BU**ER!!!!)
Majority of fish were caught on the Guppy's, The Culprit (small Judge prototype), Judge and Big B52's whilst Micky and Michael did use some other brand lures. All fish were caught using mono and Fluorocarbon leader and most using Schneider Braid.
A big thanks to Kevin and Karen for their hospitality aboard the Mantaray and their offsider Mick who looked after us.
A big shout out to Pete Barnes Territory Guided Fishing on the Beagle Gulf mothership who put up with Micky and I on the first night as there were other clients onboard Mantaray.
And finally thanks to Micky, Ray, Miro and Michael for an awesome few days.

Eddie called into the factory today and gave me a few photos of a recent trip using prototype small Judge soon to be called the Culprit and Big Ass B52's where his partner caught heaps of small barra and a Tarpon on the 008 colour Big Ass B52. Eddie has always used leader.
