Our Bad Ass Woman of the Week, everyone meet Lindsey. 🌺🌟

Hi there, I’m Lindsey Alexandria- I am 26 years old, a Nashville native and a proud Latina business owner.
I have many passions but one of them is creating and expressing art in my own way. Growing up I always knew I was interested in the beauty industry, I have always had a passion for cutting hair and creating. So I went ahead and pursued it as I got older and I have to say my joy sparks the most when making my clients happy. During the pandemic, I decided to open my own business; Olas & Flamingo which is a beauty space where our creativity plays a big role. We provide high quality beauty services and we always strive for the best.

A few pieces of advice I would give to other woman wanting to start their own business is find your targeted audience, scout the best talent to be part of your team and know exactly what you want. It’s good to set up meetings with other business owners who are in similar fields as you. - so you know what to expect, and have an idea of what to do and not to do.

And just for fun, my absolute favorite flower is Peonies.

🌹Fry's Flowers is a women owned company and we cherish that fact! We are thrilled to highlight women in business and philanthropy this month. Let's kick it off with our CEO Jessica Fry!

1.Tell us a little about your background?

🌹"I am a third generation floral designer and grew up in a wildly creative family. We were in nature a lot and had a cabin in the woods! Music was a big part of our lives and early on I knew how much the beauty of nature and music could enrich our lives! I didn't really develop my own abilities for floral design until after college, and here we are!"

2. What is your greatest passion?

🌹 "In a word...beauty. This involves creating beautiful things, surrounding myself and others with beautiful things. Helping others to see the beauty that encompasses them everyday, regardless of where they are or what they are dealing with. So, I guess you could say, anything that involves creating better lives for ourselves by tapping into all of our senses and bringing beauty to everything."

3. Did you have a mentor or person of inspiration that contributed to where you are today?

🌹"I would have to say my mother. She was so strong and so feminine at the same time. A beauty inside and out. She was able to take about anything and turn it into something beautiful, I learned the importance of surrounding ourselves with a calming and cozy aesthetic, she was a beautiful force in the world. I also have to shout out my voice teacher in college Dr. Sharp - he believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. He saw something in me that would take me years to see myself. He will always be the catalyst that sparked me on to more, to know that I was capable of more. I will always be grateful!"

4.What sparks joy in your life?

🌹"My two sons, who are some of my favorite people in the world! My kitty cats. Sunsets. The night sky. COFFEE, always. The woods and how comforting they are. Entrepreneurship, especially as a woman! I could truly go on and on!"

5. Finally, what is your favorite flower?

🌹"I think I have to say roses! Haha! But I also love tulips and so many more. I’m not sure I could pick just one. Always flowers for the JOY JOURNEY!" ❤️

Exciting news below!!

During the month of March we celebrate the incredible things women do and are! We have several things in store for you this month to help bring awareness and help us to encourage and virtually hug women everywhere!

We are highlighting and presenting the stories of incredible women who are doing such good in the world and who have overcome incredible odds to embrace who they are and generously give to the world their talents!

We will be partnering with organizations to help with the women affected by the refugee crisis in and around Ukraine. We also want to help single mothers and those needing care closer to home.

Our goal is to give a portion of The Winnie and The Blissful bouquets purchased this month to aid these women and children in crisis.

We have more information to follow so please pay close attention to the details coming your way.

Flowers embody the femininity that lies within all of us and we as a women owned company want to celebrate each and every one of you THIS month and EVERY month!
