Just read the news that sadly the iconic Davis Tackle at the gateway to the famous Royalty Fishery is to shut their doors on the final day of the river season.

A proper historic tackleshop this one and I for one hate to think the amount and calibre of angler that’s queued up and strolled through the famous door.

What can be done to stem the tide? What can we do to avert the seemingly impending world where every single item of tackle or bait is purchased through our phones/computers…
