Calathea (Marantha).

Known as the ‘prayer plant’ or the ‘living plant’, Calatheas close their leaves at night and open them again in the morning. This is because of its small ‘joint’ between the leaf and stem, which makes its leaves open and close along with light.

Calatheas prefer semi-shaded spot; never under direct sun. Spraying the plant occasionally will also be beneficial, keeping in mind to give it regular but small amounts of water.

Philodendron Imperial Red.

This tropical-looking house plant forms a cluster of large and lustrous leaves, with a subtle bronze flush on the upper surface and a pinkish red on the reverse. Very easy to care for, this plant grows best under bright filtered or indirect light.
