There are many reasons why i coach.
Ive wanted to be a coach since i was very young. Watching young players develop, watch how they engage in sessions, on the pitch, with others.
Being in a team or playing a sport is more than just participating. Watching individuals grow as a person, whether they are just beginners or full time pro’s.
My aim when i coach is to focus fully on each individual. Albeit it is in a packed group session at times but im always watching, looking for smiles, looking for enjoyment, looking for comfort. If i see someone struggling, whether that’s with there goalkeeping or with settling in i will talk to them, make them fell as comfortable as possible, we are all there for the same reason. It doesn’t always have to be about being the best, its about doing it with a smile on your face.
I say to all our goalkeepers every week, although you are strangers to each other, get to know one another, talk, make friends.
The message above is the reason i do it and will continue doing it for a long long time. I want to give back, i was once where they all were.
