Getting all the dyed sock yarn hanks ready for delivery on Friday at Tempe Yarn and Fiber. There are 40 of these hanks called Faith. 75/25 Superwash Merino and nylon blend, 463 yards 2 ply.

Yak is an exotic Fiber taken from the shaggy haired wild ox with large horns. Used in Tibet as a pack animal. It’s fleece is warmer than Merino Wool with the softness comparable to that of cashmere. The pictures posted here are a blend of 70/20/10 Superwash Merino, Yak, and nylon in 100 gram hanks of sock yarn - 437 yards. The colors are very rich, as the yarn starts off a gray color.

Speckled yarns outside drying in the Yuma sun after washing and rinsing from yesterday. Sometimes this method of Speckle dyeing can create very interesting colors, and some colors separate into two and even three different colors. All are unique in their own way.

It’s a beautiful day in Yuma, AZ. Trying some new colors in a steam pot to set the colors. Lots of crazy speckles here....

It’s a beautiful day in Yuma, AZ. Trying some new colors in a steam pot to set the colors. Lots of crazy speckles here. It may not look like much now, when the wrap is taken off and the yarn washed, they will look fantastic. Will post pictures when they are done.

Hand dyeing some sock yarn with stellina. Enjoying the sunny afternoon in Yuma while the yarn dries. Hope to get a bunch of dyeing done during the Christmas break. I will be delivering a shipment of yarn to Tempe Yarn and Fiber in January.
