Hi! I’ve noticed some new faces here lately, so I thought I’d introduce myself. 😊

I’m Nina, the person behind Eleos Body Care. I live in the mountains of Colorado and make all of the Eleos products myself, in small batches, right here in Woodland Park.

This little guy is Henry, and being outside with him is definitely one of my happy places. Sunshine, mountains, fresh air and Henry… doesn’t get much better for me.

I started Eleos because I wanted really simple skincare made with 100% nontoxic ingredients, zero fragrance, and without a bunch of stuff I didn’t want or need on my skin. And over time it’s just kind of grown from there.

I’m really grateful for everyone who has found my little business, whether you’ve been here for a while or just recently started following along. Thank you for being here and supporting something I truly love doing.

Hydrosols are everywhere in natural skincare right now, but do you actually need one?

If the goal is to add hydration before applying your moisturizer, the answer may be much simpler: clean water.

Applying moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp helps trap water in the skin and reduce water loss. And when you're using a rich, water-free moisturizer like Eleos, that little step can make a big difference.

Hydrosols can be lovely, but they're more than water. They also contain naturally occurring botanical compounds, and research demonstrating specific benefits of hydrosols on human facial skin is still limited.

For sensitive or reactive skin, sometimes simpler is better. Fewer unnecessary botanicals means fewer potential ingredients for your skin to react to.

My favorite routine?

Cleanse.
Mist with clean water.
Apply Eleos while skin is still slightly damp.

No fancy facial mist required. 🤍

Thank you so much for your purchase! Your Eleos order is on its way.

Because our moisturizers are made with natural butters and fats, their texture can change with temperature, especially during the warmer summer months or when temperatures fluctuate during transit.

If your whipped moisturizer arrives softer or slightly melted, simply allow it to settle at room temperature. You can also place it in the refrigerator for a short time to help it cool more quickly. The texture should firm back up as it cools, although it may lose some of its original whipped consistency.

If that happens, no worries; it simply becomes more like a balm and is just as wonderful to use. You may even find that a smaller amount goes a little further.

Likewise, if your moisturizer travels through very cold temperatures and arrives firmer than usual, allow it to return to room temperature before using.

These natural changes in texture are simply part of using minimally processed skincare without synthetic stabilizers.

Not all tallow skincare is created the same.

At Eleos, our grass-fed tallow is locally sourced and slowly dry rendered by us in small batches. We don’t add water during rendering, just gentle heat and time to produce a simple, concentrated skin-nourishing fat.

Tallow is naturally rich in fatty acids such as oleic, palmitic and stearic acid, lipids that help soften dry skin, support the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss.

And because we render our own tallow, we know exactly how it was handled from raw fat to finished skincare.

Locally sourced. Slowly rendered. Made in small batches.
