Hi, I’m Jess- your local flower girl 🌸
With so many new friends + followers recently, a quick intro post is long overdue. I started Flowers by Jess last year wanting to grow flowers for friends and family, and it turned into a small business pretty quickly- yes, while I was also in nursing school (apparently I didn’t have enough stress already haha). I’ve been learning to farm since before I can remember, but growing cut flowers is something a little new to me. Last summer I literally couldn’t grow enough to fill the orders and request coming in, so I knew this year I needed a slight expansion…
This season I’ve more than doubled the flower field and currently have over 25 varieties planted which have been started from seed inside under grow lights all winter. Now that I’ve just recently graduated nursing school, I will be starting as an emergency department nurse this summer- so bear with me while I try to be full time nurse and flower farmer!
