Will this be the year I can grow stuff in the greenhouse, or keep some already started plants alive? I’m always hopeful each year but each year has brought a different challenge, fingers crossed this is the year! It’s come a long, long way from the beginning though and I learn more things with each year.

FYI Short Rant: Dear fellow small business friends and valued customers, I’ve been on the fence about sharing this but it’s been bugging me, so here it goes. This person either real or fake account who knows, reached out to me and wanted a dozen jams. She selected her flavors and qualities of each and we agreed on price and location for her to pickup/pay.

Now mind you SHE reached out to me! She took up several hours of my time, that I surely would have used elsewhere.

When the time came to show up, she not only didn’t communicate that she’d changed her mind, or had some other issue that I’d likely be ok with, she didn’t even have the common decency to let me know and blocked me on FB instead.

So… if you get out reach from this person, if it’s even a real person, I’d suggest not wasting your time engaging with her. She will waste your time, which is precious and limited to us all.

The good news is I’ll have 12 more jars available that were some of the more popular and limited flavors, so her loss, your gain.

Also if you all ever want something but something happens and you can’t get it then, or change your mind altogether just let me know we’ll likely be able to figure it out together, no need for blocking me.

Thanks for your time and attention, hope this helps someone else.

More things you can forage in October but each year is different on what or how much you may find. Last year there were tons of persimmons but pretty much none this year. Honey locust beans, shaggy mane and other mushrooms, like meadow mushroom and giant puffballs, turkey tails and reishi mushrooms but always verify before you eat any. Several types of amaranth and lambs-quarter that has gone to seed but you can use for grain or to save to cultivate and eat the baby greens. Ramble Farms
