💀Day of the Dead (Día de los Mu***os)

🌼 How Is the Day of the Dead Celebrated?

🌼 El Día de los Mu***os is not, as is commonly thought, a Mexican version of Halloween, though the two holidays do share some traditions, including costumes and parades. On the Day of the Dead, it’s believed that the border between the spirit world and the real world dissolves. During this brief period, the souls of the dead awaken and return to the living world to feast, drink, dance and play music with their loved ones. In turn, the living family members treat the deceased as honored guests in their celebrations, and leave the deceased’s favorite foods and other offerings at gravesites or on the ofrendas built in their homes. Ofrendas can be decorated with candles, bright marigolds called cempasuchil and red cock’s combs alongside food like stacks of tortillas and fruit.

💀 The most prominent symbols related to the Day of the Dead are calacas (skeletons) and calaveras (skulls). In the early 20th century, the printer and cartoonist José Guadalupe Posada incorporated skeletal figures in his art mocking politicians and commenting on revolutionary politics. His most well-known work, La Calavera Catrina, or Elegant Skull, features a female skeleton adorned with makeup and dressed in fancy clothes. The 1910 etching was intended as a statement about Mexicans adopting European fashions over their own heritage and traditions. La Calavera Catrina was then adopted as one of the most recognizable Day of the Dead icons.

💀 During contemporary Day of the Dead festivities, people commonly wear skull masks and eat sugar candy molded into the shape of skulls. The pan de ánimas of All Souls Day rituals in Spain is reflected in pan de mu**to, the traditional sweet baked good of Day of the Dead celebrations today. Other food and drink associated with the holiday, but consumed year-round as well, include spicy dark chocolate and the corn-based drink called atole. You can wish someone a happy Day of the Dead by saying, “Feliz día de los Mu***os.”

Will you be celebrating your loved ones who have passed? 🫶

🔦 From Lead to Light: The Mibladen Story

Deep in the mountains of Mibladen, Morocco, ancient galena (lead sulfide) has been slowly transforming over millions of years.

Where oxygen & water reach the surface of these lead veins, they create two stunning minerals:

🔹 Cerussite (PbCO₃) – glassy, bullet-shaped crystals that glow a vivid yellow under UV light. The largest reach 10 cm & some display rare "cyclic twinning" – a spiral-like stacking of crystal faces.

🔹 Barite (BaSO₄) – nicknamed "Heavy Spar" because it's nearly 4× denser than quartz. At Mibladen it grows in pink, orange, & golden tabular blades that look almost like flowers.

Together, they form one of the most iconic mineral associations in the world – translucent cerussite perched on peach-colored barite, all sitting on a metallic galena base.

📍 Still mined today by semi-artisanal teams, Mibladen remains a benchmark locality in mineralogy.

⚠️ Fun (but cautionary) fact: Cerussite is a lead carbonate. Beautiful to look at, toxic to ingest. Always wash your hands after handling.

There are no right or wrong ways to use your skull 💀 in the end it's a matter of opinion & I ALWAYS say do what your inner voice/intuition tells you to do 🤗

Of course each stone carries different vibrations too. For example Obsidian is extremely protective!!!

🙂 It's the balance between Life & Death 💀
Many people feel extremely drawn to them, either because of there looks or the deeper healing you receive while medicating with one. It's said while gazing into the eyes & connecting on a deeper level you can receive messages or down loads. Even look deeper into yourself for complete understanding of who you are & what you need!

Regardless they're magical ✨
I've honestly never been drawn to skulls until i started on my crystal selling journey in 2019. I felt the magic & never looked back. Now my collection has grown so much!!! 💀
