Why Our Tea

The quality of tea is the most essential place to begin if you want to experience the most from your cup. WHERE ELEPHANTS ROAM TEAS have been carefully selected from plantations that grow fine teas where teas and elephants are indigenous. To bring attention to the world not only that we have an exceptional quality of tea from unique tea gardens, but to underscore the need to help save

our elephants. Each tea is named on the basis of an elephant fact: Kandula Breakfast Blend is named after, Kandula who is the famed elephant that helped unify Sri Lanka in 161 BC – Kandula grew up alongside the young prince who later became King of Sri Lanka. King Dutugamunu, who loved his elephant-friend so much, he is quoted as having said, “Dear Kandula, I’ll make you the lord of all Ceylon!”

You can read about the rest of our elephant teas and their stories while shopping for your favorite teas. 1 Ton of Illegal Ivory Will Be Publicly Destroyed in Times Square in the heart of NYC today.

The U.S. Department of the Interior, the Wildlife Conservation Society and New York's state environmental department are among the participants in Friday's event. The Wildlife Conservation Society says elephant poaching is at its highest level in decades and is causing significant declines in the population.

It says rhinos and other species are also at risk.

The society's CEO, Cristian Samper, says the symbolism highlights an effort to crush "the bloody ivory market" and let poachers know that they won't profit by slaughtering the "majestic" creatures.
