Leaning Tree Ranch had the blessed opportunity to sponsor a belt buckle for Cavy showmanship at our local county fair. There are belt buckles for all the other livestock animals but there hasn’t been one for cavies in many years. Last year we got wind of that and knew that every category needed to have some western bling, so we happily sponsored.

If you have livestock you understand the importance of putting your feed into predator “proof” containers and using all those feed bags to hold waste. Everything on the ranch has a secondary purpose.

Our first set of triplets! My youngest and I came down to feed the goats 🐐 and Polly (LSG Dog) saw two brand new babies. I checked on mama and babies, 1 male 1 female, and everyone was doing great. Later I went to feed the fair goat and work with him… and there was a THIRD baby goat. I was blown away. All are healthy, eating, and doing well. We now have 2 males and 1 female.

Kaleidoscope is doing a good job being a mama. You don’t know how a goat will take to motherhood, so it’s always a joyful moment when she feeds and watches over her babies.

A couple that mends fences together … stay together. Our goat herd keeps finding their way to the road so we examined the fence line and found a place where PGE dropped a tree on it and it was broke (PGE has a company up here that cuts trees down regularly along power line areas and is notorious for not caring what the break). So we took several hours mending a fence. No more goat shenanigans 🤞
