Say hello to De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, a beautiful 3 ply, worsted weight yarn that has just arrived at The Woolly Thistle!

Gilliatt blends white southeastern French merino wool with black Portuguese merino wool from the Alentejo Valley, creating gorgeous natural shades alongside a wonderful range of dyed colors. Colorwork knitters, we think you’re going to have fun with this one!

Exciting news, Thistlers! Icelandic wool and Thai mulberry silk meet in our newest yarn line, E+2 by Einrúm!

First featured in this year’s Spring Taster Box, E+2 blends 80% Icelandic wool with 20% Thai mulberry silk. The wool brings warmth, breathability, and durability, while two strands of silk add strength, softness, and a subtle sheen.

The “E” stands for Ístex Einband, the lace-weight Icelandic wool at its core, and “+2” refers to the two silk strands plied with it. The yarn blooms after blocking while maintaining defined stitches, and several striking colorways pair naturally colored wool with contrasting silk for added depth. We’re looking forward to seeing what you make with it!
