Here’s some answers to questions we have been asked recently.
We are realizing that many are unaware of the upcoming change in federal legislation that will destroy our industry.
Here's the latest:
Late last year, a bill was passed to reopen the federal government after it had been shutdown for over a month.
At the 11th hour, new legislation redefining
H E M P was snuck into this bill by certain lawmakers, and passed into law.
Our industry woke up to devastating news that would completely change everything, re-criminlizing this holistic approach that we whole-heartedly believe in.
The legislation was set to take effect on 11/12/26.
Just this past Saturday, Congress did agree on a 29 day extension placing the new effective date as 12/11/26.
What does the new law mean?
This new legislation that passed completely redefines H E M P, and what is considered a legal amount.
Under current law with the 2018 Farm Bill,
H E M P derived products must contain .3% or less of D9 🫖, per PIECE.
IE: per gummy, per v**e, per tincture, per dog treat.
Under the new law, H E M P derived products must be less than .4 mg for the entire container. That change to .4 mg of TOTAL 🫖 is what makes this such a drastic decrease in amount allowed, and puts even a full spectrum tincture in the illegal category.
The best analogy here is coffee.
If we drink 1 cup of coffee, we receive approximately 95 mg of caffeine per cup.
If this new legislation was in relation to coffee and caffeine, it would take 60+ cups of coffee to achieve the desired 95 mg of caffeine.
The new legislation will make 98% of H E M P products illegal under these new guidelines, therefore destroying the industry we have worked so hard to grow.
What does this mean for our customers?
We are remaining hopeful that a resolution will be found, and amendments to this new law will allow us to continue to provide this healing, natural goodness to all of you.
If that doesn't happen, our family owned shop, and the entire industry will no longer exist.
You will no longer have access to a naturally occurring plant that has an incredible amount of benefits. You will no longer be able to utilize this holistic option that so many of you depend on for relief.
Because the government said so.
What we're doing:
We are pushing for reasonable regulation for all products, in lieu of a complete ban. We have always supported regulation and have operated under our own regulation standards since opening in 2019.
This includes 3rd party testing of every product for efficacy and safety. We hire outside labs to test every product we sell to ensure what we say is present-is present, and what we say isn't-is not. The government currently does not require any of that. We do this because it is important to us that we know we are providing safe and quality products. Additionally, you must also be 21 to enter our storefront or order online. Age restriction is another reasonable regulation that we are in favor of. Eliminating synthetic cannabinoids and ingredients from the market is another example of what we as a whole would like to see rolled out. Creating products that have zero marketing targeted towards children is important, along with child proof containers for every item. These are things we have always strived for thus far without being required to.
There are many very important changes that would benefit our entire industry and create standards to ensure safe products across the board.
What can you do?
WRITE AND CALL YOUR LAW MAKERS! Reach out to your representatives. Daily. Weekly. As often as you can. Share testimonies. Demand that they fight for our freedom to use a natural plant for our health and wellness!
We refuse to be fearful, but we do feel the need to be realistic. Take the next couple of months to stock up and make sure you have what you need should this ban actually take effect.
We have thousands of customers that utilize our products for their wellbeing, and we will fight through the very last minute to keep this sector alive.
