I’ve been thinking about how we engage with information, mass media, and popular culture, with or without our consent. An accumulation of text, paint smearing over information, forcing layers, and stories into abstraction.

The street that shaped me as a kid is named Somerset Road. Nestled within the bold but quiet folds of Prince George’s County, Maryland, where the Green Line always knew the way, carrying me faithfully to and from the chocolate city.

I finished painting “Rituals” in the beginning of 2026 and I’m grateful to have a solid space to share the painting in such a time of displacement.

Thoughtfully curated by Anisa Olufemi , “Rituals” is currently on exhibit till March 14th at the Hamiltonian Artists 2026 new.now. group exhibition, debuting the work of 2025–2027 fellows.
