Post lockdown. Still wrestling with anxiety. It's Ok. Be kind to yourself. Take your time.
Start with smaller social gatherings.
Be the wallflower.
Don't feel the need to talk. Just being there is a start.
Don't feel the need to answer every question - excuse yourself and walk off if it gets too much.
Sidebar yourself; Make a note of the quiet spots, reading corners, bean bag nooks or the toilets. Retreat to them before your social battery is fully discharged, and see if you have the capacity to power up.
It’s perfectly fine to leave early. You got on the horse for a short ride - next time it will be easier.
Everyone has been through a lot. If you have the energy, actively listen and hear others' stories. But be kind to yourself and protect your boundaries and emotional energy.
