Sharing this layout using one of the summer releases you can find in the shop. This title was perfect for my layout of a day trip to Lanai by boat with my love. I used products from to back the cut file and I love how the sequins remind me of the sunlight sparkling on the water. What a beautiful day!

This absolutely stunning woman is the owner and founder of and this is her street art - stunning aren’t they? She is an artist and designer and her company makes jewelry with modern icons of the Roma or Romani people to raise awareness and support them in being seen and heard where they have been discriminated against and excluded and stereotyped for centuries. She lives in Spain and has an online shop you can check out. We have a new Rosie’s studio kit that will be listed soon in the shop and it was inspired by this photo. If you love the colors and Spring vibes you will want to check cliquekits.com next week for lots of new kits!

Day 2 of the expo floor. Just sharing some peeks at the different booths. A common theme in conversations across the show floor ( some I participated in and some overheard) was the importance of showing up. I was not alone in feeling gratitude for the vendors, many of them the small business- little guys like me, who found a way to make this happen. The presence of friends in the industry was heartfelt, and the absences were felt too. This was not a consumer show. This was a show for talking shop learning about innovations, touching and playing with new products, and most importantly placing orders. Far fewer gimmicks and over the top displays- in fact many people brought samples representing a line or just mock-ups. For the first merged show I found that AFCI is a great fit with NAMTA— as paper-crafters have always intermingled with mixed media and there are really amazing supplies I had not heard of before!! Another welcome surprise was seeing more companies conscious of their energy footprint and using sustainable materials. Check out my stories today for some of my top finds from yesterday.

If you are still here I want to thank you for sticking with me even though posts have been few and far between lately. I am excited for the first day on the expo floor at the newly merged NAMTA Art Materials World Creativation show that we used to know as CHA long long ago. There was no show at all ( except virtual) so expectations for what this would be like could not be lower… but hey it’s Orlando and who can have a bad time coming here, right? I’m also combining the show and visits with my parents and some family for Easter. It feels like a new beginning in a way after going through the long drawn out and painful death of mojo that the past year has been. But it’s totally okay- I fully expect to recover and am excited for the next year because you know what? Someone pointed out to me that 2023 will be Clique Kits 10 year anniversary. Wow! In case you missed my story yesterday I took a great class with Ranger on alcohol inks and am now obsessed. I’ve always taken an OOTD picture at CHA so of course I had to do that too. Hope to be back soon with some updates on what’s going on!

Check out my reel today for all of the pages- here is an overview of my birthday book project! I finally used my and limited edition mini art journal which I had been hoarding with the collections and some products plus calendar cards as monthly dividers. Don’t mind the sticky notes which are for planning the photos and name/birthday date labels I need to add. I hope to work ahead a little bit this year and for the first time make more handmade cards for loved ones far away. This interest has evolved from being an almost empty nester and of course the pandemic keeping everyone apart!

I used the cut file of the monthly challenge in The Clique for this layout along with some paper and fussy cut butterflies stitched with vellum wings. I am in love with chunky glass glitter and those little bottles of it in the kit were out to use here!! My daughter’s tshirt just spoke to me with an earthy botanical vibe and so this layout was rather intuitive around that vibe.

Crushing on the sampler kit and the Victorian Xmas kit ( there were a really small number of these so of course they are sold out now) I used the album as a base for my shabby vintage holiday memories album set up. These kits bring nostalgia for brands we can no longer get like Where are my Gen X scrapbookers out there who know what I’m talking about? šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘šŸŽ„

I have been wanting to use my collection for so long and decided this photo of my little granddaughter trying to escape her mom’s lap to go further into the ocean reminded me of Moana! So I used my cut file rendition of Moana and the simple flowers cut file from to have some fun on this layout. I loved using bold non- traditional beach colors for this- what do you all think? Fun? Over the top? I am going to share this in the Clique for my Disney inspired layout. Loads of cut files are in the Shop for free!

So… let’s talk about crossover supplies as I call them. They are supplies that are trending in one crafty genre and then suddenly show up in a kit belonging to another genre of crafting. ( by show up I mean I put them there of course lol) And frequently I ā€œoverhearā€ usually in online comments and chats that people are scratching their heads not really sure how to use such an item in their craft. Two examples right here on this layout! The first is rice paper. Maybe you have seen the ones in the Clique International shop or somewhere else and you weren’t sure how to use it. All I did was use a water brush to outline my ā€œstatement elementā€ on the rice paper then gently ripped it to get a nice frayed edge. That’s it! Such a gorgeous pop of teal which goes so beautifully with the ochre color in the background and photo! Next, those gemstone inlay charms that were included in the are really cool but they look like something you would use in jewelry ( But they were made by Prima as part of a scrapbooking collection so not really a crossover at all but …) I decided to use a paper clip to add it to my page which still allows it to dangle kind of like an earring. And that is all! I love how unique these 2 statement elements make my layout! And if you are one of those people who don’t know where to start with these products… šŸ¤—šŸ¤£you’re welcome!

Continuing on with my iNSD layouts of my daughter Scarlet for her growing up album I used a new paper from that will be in a kit releasing this month and a title from and some bits from behind the photo. We were talking during the crop about how sometimes we put so much effort into a layout and end up not liking it as much as when we just intuitively do a layout that takes no time at all. I call this intuitive scrapbooking- also known as don’t overthink it scrapbooking and you have permission to keep it simple! Give me a high five emoji if you agree! šŸ™ŒšŸ»
