Here’s what the beauty industry never explains: ā€œalcoholā€ isn’t one ingredient. It’s an entire family of molecules. And the only thing they all have in common is a tiny -OH attachment — one oxygen, one hydrogen — called a hydroxyl group. That little tag is what earns any molecule the name ā€œalcoholā€ in chemistry terms. But beyond that? They can be completely unrecognizable from each other.

The short chain ones — ethanol, isopropyl — are small, volatile, and evaporate fast. That’s what strips and dries.

Fatty alcohols like cetyl are long chain. Waxy, rich, and slow. They don’t evaporate — they coat and condition.

Same name tag. Completely different animal.

Cetyl alcohol is in our conditioner intentionally — it’s what gives it that creamy texture and actually softens your hair shaft. Every ingredient in our products has been thought through. That’s a promise. šŸ‘‰ Full ingredient breakdown at grassfedsoaps.com — link in bio.

I’ll say it with my chest: ā€œIf you can’t pronounce it, don’t put it on your skinā€ is holding your skincare routine back.

At Grass Fed Soaps we don’t touch toxic ingredients. But we also don’t let an intimidating name disqualify something that’s naturally derived, non-toxic, and makes a product genuinely perform better.

To list a few ingredients with crazy names: Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride. Polyquaternium-7. Polyhydroxystearic Acid. Proud of every single one.

Clean doesn’t have to mean limited. šŸ‘‰ See our full lineup at grassfedsoaps.com — link in bio.

We discontinued our zinc sun balm — and it wasn’t an easy call.

People were buying it. People loved what it stood for. But the truth is, we kept hearing the same things: too thick, white cast that wouldn’t budge, and trying to get product out of a tin with sunscreen hands is basically impossible.

We could’ve kept selling it anyway. But if we wouldn’t reach for it every single day, it doesn’t belong in our lineup.

So we went back to the drawing board.

We kept everything that mattered — grass-fed tallow, non-nano zinc oxide, no chemical filters, nothing that absorbs into your bloodstream. And we rebuilt everything else.

Lotion base. Coco-caprylate so it actually blends. Iron oxides to kill the white cast. A tube you can actually use at the beach. And a more stable formula — meaning better consistency, better shelf life, and a product that performs the same way every single time you use it.

No oxybenzone. No octinoxate. No synthetic chemicals that absorb into your skin or pollute the water around you. Just clean, reef-safe sun care that’s actually non-toxic — the kind you can feel good about putting on yourself and your family all summer long.

This is what sun care should have always looked like.

I didn’t start making tallow skincare to build a business. I started because I couldn’t find what I wanted at a price that made sense.

Clean ingredients. No fillers. No markup just because it’s ā€œnatural.ā€

When we decided to sell, I made a promise to myself: affordable stays non-negotiable. Because skincare that actually works shouldn’t be a luxury.

That’s always been the heart behind Grass Fed Soaps — and it always will be.

When we make real handcrafted soap through the saponification process, glycerin is a natural byproduct that stays in the bar. Commercial soap companies actually strip it out to sell separately in lotions and skincare products. (Yes, really.)

Glycerin is a humectant — it draws moisture from the air directly into your skin, keeping it soft and hydrated long after you rinse. That’s why real soap feels completely different on your skin than the synthetic detergent bars lining drugstore shelves.

Your skin deserves the whole bar — glycerin included. ✨

At Grass Fed Soaps, we don’t believe in stripping, suppressing, or outsmarting your skin. We believe in giving it what it was designed to thrive on — real, nutrient-dense ingredients that work with your biology, not against it.

When you stop fighting your skin and start nourishing it, something shifts. It starts doing what it was always built to do — heal, protect, and balance itself.

That’s not a gimmick. That’s just nature working the way it’s supposed to.

Less war. More support. Better skin. ✨

ā€œSoap is just soap.ā€ — I used to believe that too. 🧼

Then my skin hit rock bottom and one ingredient changed everything. Here’s how tallow took me from chronic irritation and acne to skin that finally regulates itself — and how it turned into a full skincare brand.

Tallow isn’t a trend — it’s one of the oldest skincare ingredients on the planet.

Ancient cultures used animal fats in healing balms. Traditional soapmakers built entire recipes around it. It worked then for the same reason it works now — your skin actually recognizes it.

Its fatty acid profile mirrors what your skin naturally produces. It absorbs deeply, strengthens your moisture barrier, calms irritation, and comes loaded with naturally occurring vitamins A, D, E, and K.

The beauty industry swapped real ingredients for synthetic ones and called it progress. Your skin disagrees.

Calendula isn’t a trend. It’s ancient. 🌼

Used by Egyptians for skin rejuvenation. By Romans for healing. By medieval herbalists for wounds and inflammation. This flower has been showing up in skin remedies for over a thousand years — and for good reason.

Anti-inflammatory. Antimicrobial. Soothing without being complicated.

We combined it with grass-fed tallow because two time-tested, skin-loving ingredients are better than one. That’s our Calendula Tallow Face Balm. Old school ingredients. Real results.
