There is alot of prejudice against a fiberglassed tree. The fact is other that just because you want one there is no benefit to using a rawhide tree. The fiberglassed trees are without a doubt stronger and more readily available. Several of the very best custom saddlemakers use fiberglass trees. The problem is keeping good rawhiders to cover your trees They are a little different to build on but not that much. I know alot of people want rawhide covered trees and that is fine, but the days of saying rawhide is superior to well done modern fiberglass covered trees are in the past and whoever tells you that must be comparing them to inferior quality trees apples to oranges .I build both and rode a fiberglassed tree for about 15 years and definately abused it to where it should have broke and it didnt. I can say during this same time i broke a double bullhide covered tree in another personal saddle so take it for what its worth. Its traditional and thats fine but not better not stronger and no better in any way

Waxes tallows and oils are what keeps leather in good shape. Years ago people weren't afraid to oil their gear and now days seems like most of it dies from dry rot. People are afraid of changing the color or possibly getting a drop of oil on their clothes. Good quality gear should last a lifetime and will with proper care providing it is good quality to start with.
Saddles are made with saddle skirting for the most part. This leather has the least amount of tallows and oil as any leather. This is to allow proper casing to fit the leather to the saddle tree to provide a custom fit. After it is fit then the leather needs to be properly conditioned to provide weather resistance and long life. So when you treasure that light colored saddle just understand it probably is light because it has no oil in it

Seems like this past year has seen many businesses taking advantage of buyers with using the Covid 19 Virus as an excuse to raise prices and reduce quality . Here at Moores Saddle Shop we do NOT agree with this practice and refuse to play along with this silly game . We are offering a limited lifetime Warenty on our selected saddles in regards to horn, tree ,rigging, and construction as long as it is properly cared for. This warranty is limited only in the respect of my lifetime. Since I am basically a one person shop if I'm dead I can't very well warrantee your saddle. So for the lifetime of the original owner if your saddle fails or needs work or repair as long as I am physically able I'll repair it free. You keep it properly cleaned and oiled and I'll keep it fixed. This goes without saying take care of it and don't abuse it. That means don't soak it in motor oil don't soak it in the water trough or creek don't leave it outside unattended and don't have some saddle maker wannabe work on it. . I have many years of experience building, riding, and repairing saddles and I use only the very best trees ,leather, hardware and construction methods. I guarantee my work to last . We will also take trades on quality used saddles and offer top trade in prices for your used saddle regardless of condition . You pay shipping and it will stay with you .
