Hey Folks...want to have a fun filled weekend this upcoming December 1 & 2nd. Want to see over 100 craft vendors? Want to stay dry and cozy as you shop for handmade crafts and gifts, stocking suffers, jewelry, wood crafts, one of a kind items just before Christmas? Then this is your weekend. Stay dry and warm under a roof at both locations is key for me. Here is how your weekend will begin and end. FIRST- Start with the Lexington Farmers Market Craft show with over 35 vendors. We will have food, music and free coffee and hot chocolate. That will be from 9 AM till 2 PM on Saturday. Then head over to the Rowan County Fair grounds for over 65 craft vendors for the rest of the the Saturday and they will also be open Sunday. Get all your handmade craft shopping done this weekend and have fun and most important stay WARM & DRY. See you all in Lexington only a short 15 minute drive from Salisbury.

We just finished our Christmas Bracelets. They will be for sale at the Lexington Farmers Market Craft Show this Saturday December 1st from 9 AM till 2 PM. We have a limited number for sale so shop early. Remember, Rain or Shine it's under the roof at the Old Train Depot. There will be 35 plus craft vendors.

We are gearing up for the Lexington Farmer's Market! They are hosting a fall event on Nov 17 at the Train Depot. It's really easy to find, covered in case of bad weather, they always have great live music, eggs, meat of all kinds, produce, and you may find BBQ sauces, baked goods, hard cider, locally made crafts, soap, maybe the retired Lexington Police Chief will be selling his carved wooden spoons too. At last count it's possible that over 22 vendors may be attending.

We'll have our sweet potato bracelets, and rolled paper bead bracelets. Some of the themes are music, pigs (for Lexington BBQ Fest), North Carolina road maps, breast cancer research, dogs and cats and Cheerwine! Plus every color imaginable is available. Please come and see us!

Sweet Potato Jewelry attended the Lexington BBQ Festival last Saturday October 27th and we received the Honorable Mention Award for one of our Sweet Potato Brackets. Only 4 total awards where given out and we are very honored to have received it. Also, there is a article in the Holiday Issue of the Salisbury magazine about us. We will post it when it comes available on line.

How Sweet Potato Jewelry came about...

What started out as a child's’ craft to make fake rocks and do something creative in between work projects has turned into a jewelry business touring festivals throughout North Carolina! There are basically 2 styles of bracelet, one is made solely out of sweet potatoes and the other is recycled paper. These bracelets are available in all colors and now many versions. Getting inspiration from any paper thrown away we have turned road maps, magazines, the Sunday comics, junk mail, candy wrappers and paper from my “day job” into rolled, painted, layered and sealed beads using an technique from the Depression era of last century. The sweet potato beads are dehydrated then treated, painted, sealed and then layered into a unique piece of jewelry that will jump start any boring conversation the minute a compliment is uttered. And we hope you hear compliments! Our most recent addition is earrings and were’e working out all the wrinkles but you may see earrings at our booth from time to time. We also offer wine charms which make a great hostess or housewarming gift and children’s sizes.
