Becky was left paralyzed at the age of 14 after a car accident. It was a journey learning to use a bathroom in a new way. After years of trying suppositories, laxatives, and enemas, she still had constant worry about accidents and incontinence. Then her doctor told her about transanal irrigation with Peristeen Plus®.

Transanal irrigation (TAI) is a bowel management technique that can help you control when and where you empty your bowels. After Becky started the Peristeen system, she went from irrigating her bowels every day to every other day.

Happy National Nurses Month!

At Coloplast, our history is rooted in the compassion and creativity of nurses. Our story began when nurse Elise Sørensen listened to her sister’s fears about living with a stoma. Determined to help, Elise imagined the world’s first adhesive ostomy bag: a simple idea that would change countless lives.

Her vision was brought to life by Aage Louis‑Hansen, a civil engineer and plastics manufacturer, and his wife Johanne Louis‑Hansen, a trained nurse who understood the importance of dignity in care.

Their collaboration didn’t just create a product: it shaped the foundation of Coloplast.

This month, we celebrate Elise, Johanne, and all the incredible nurses whose empathy, strength, and dedication continue to inspire us. Thank you for the difference you make every single day.

More predictability. Less time spent in the bathroom. Your bowel care routine could have both.

Transanal irrigation (TAI) is a bowel management technique that can help you control when and where you empty your bowels.

You don’t have to settle for a bowel care routine that doesn’t fit the lifestyle you want. You can ask your provider about TAI with Peristeen Plus®, or visit this link to learn more: https://bit.ly/3OU9eQY
