Recently, I finished Jay Dubya's book The FBI Inspector, which is a collection of fictional novellas that take you into the crime and mystery world. What was so refreshing about this book was the author’s method of telling those intricate tales of criminal investigation, and he takes us through so many different types of crime along with what we can assume were the motivating forces for each crime. Each novella was a puzzle waiting to be solved, and I was pulled into being a part of the crime-solving puzzle by trying to figure out the clues, as did the FBI Inspector Joe Giralo. The author took time to describe the investigations and make the stories much more engaging.
I also really liked the different characters in the book. The idea of the Inspector's own experience and astute knowledge of Giralo alongside the new and eager and sometimes quirky supporting agents can bring a unique and dynamic build to the stories. I got invested in these characters and was growing attached to them. The book itself was a great read.
The book was excellent when it came to editing. I did not find a single typo or grammatical error in my entire reading experience. The author took great detail into account, and as a result of neat editing, it was really a pleasure to read the stories. “The FBI Inspector” overall is a great collection of novellas, well written, and cheers to fans of crime fiction and mystery. In cases of intricate plots, memorable characters, and a true-to-life image of the investigations of a criminal, the author records best. I read this book and loved it, and found myself eagerly turning the pages waiting to see how each case was solved. I gladly rate The FBI Inspector 5 out of 5 Stars.
