If I had to describe this past year for us in one word, that word would be CHANGE. Wow, SO much change. Change can be good. Change can be painful. And it was definitely a mix of both. I started counting the number of significant moves (like actual physical moves) that we made in 2025…and I came up with ten:
1. Out of our house of 30 years
2. Into an apartment for 5 months
3. Out of The Alley Shop
4. Out of Jackson Storage
5. Out of our store
6. Out of our apartment
7. Into Zeeland storage
8. Into new home in Zeeland
9. Helped our son move to Chicago
10. Helped our daughter move to Indy

I’m tired just remembering it all! And trust me, there were long days when it seemed like too much. We prayed a whole lot …but even in all of the uncertainty we were confident that God was working it all for good and He had a plan for us…a new season of life (at hopefully a slightly slower pace) in a new location! 😊

Happy to have survived it all. Happy to be settled into our new life here in Zeeland. Happy to think that there might not be as much change in 2026! But either way, we’re excited to see what the new year holds! Happy New Year friends! We hope 2026 has only the best of change for you! ❤️

And that’s a wrap for Santa 2025 home visits! How do we even begin to take all of the sweet moments and contagious JOY and narrow it down to 90 seconds?! We visited 10 towns across two weekends and saw over 100 children…and we loved every minute! 🎅❤️

So grateful for the wonderful families who invited us into their homes! Many of those families have been a part of our Santa experience for YEARS now…and it was both humbling and heartwarming to hear how Santa Scott has become a tradition for them! (A few of our families had babies this past year, so it was extra special to meet those new precious ones!) 👶❤️

Thank you for trusting us and allowing us to experience the magic of the holidays through the eyes of your children! Our hearts are full! Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄❤️

“Christmas Yard Cards” have been a tradition in Zeeland since the 1960s! Home owners place large painted wood “Christmas card” signs in their front yards to usher in the holiday season and to greet those that pass by… and we’re excited to join the festivities this year! I’ll share more soon on the process of creating this, how it looks in the yard as well as some of the other beautiful cards on the street!

Thanksgiving is one week away, and I can’t wait! 🦃 ❤️Even though the rest of my house is looking very Christmasy, I’m hanging on to the Thanksgiving vibe in my dining room. Many of you may recognize this large pine hutch from The Alley Shop…now I have the pleasure of enjoying it every day in my home! Typically, my design style is more streamlined, but when it comes to this beautiful hutch, I’m a self-proclaimed maximalist! More is more! It’s chock full of treasures that I’ve collected over time and I’ll have fun re-styling with Christmas goodies after turkey day is over.

Oh! And if you’re looking for a great neutral paint to add a little depth to your room, we just painted these walls with Sherman Williams 2026 color of the year called “Universal Khaki”… and we love how it gives the room a little more richness and boosts the look of furniture and artwork! (FYI, we use flat paint on the walls and a satin finish for the woodwork.)

Have you heard??!! Santa is coming BACK to town! We’ve decided that our recent move to Michigan shouldn’t stop us from celebrating the holidays with our favorite Santa families back in Illinois! We no longer have a workshop, so instead, we are coming to YOU! Private 30 minute visits in the comfort of your own home! (We prefer to stay within 5 miles of downtown La Grange, thank you!) $240

Nothing like company coming (my sister arrives this Sunday)to kick projects into overdrive! ☺️ I’ve been staring at this wall for a while trying to figure out how to style it—had some large artwork hanging here for a few weeks and decided it was too busy. Plan B…picture molding! Measured and visualized with blue tape. Then turned it over to the professional (aka hubby) who took care of the rest! We tried to mimic the molding on the built-in cubbies that are on either side of the fireplace, and we’re so happy with the result! Love how it adds depth and visual interest without overpowering the space. Have you done anything similar? Would love to see your photos for more inspiration! 😊👍
