Just listed! Trilobites existed for over 270 million years, outlasting nearly every major extinction event until the big one at the end of the Permian finally wiped them out. This Dalmanites limulurus from upstate New York is 424 million years old and is one of the prettier species in the group: spiny, detailed, with a pointed tail that makes it instantly recognizable.
