Dear Motherhood,
You taught me life’s deepest lessons.
What it means to be selfless.
How to give the last bite to another without hesitation.
You taught me that the words that leave my lips often echo my mother’s voice.
And through that realization,
you taught me the need to apologize to my mother
for the moments I hurt her heart—
because now I know what that kind of love feels like.
You taught me grace.
How to put others before myself.
How to love truly and unconditionally.
And somewhere in the middle of the sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the worry, and the fierce love—
you taught me how God must see me too:
as His child.
