Nature's Herald

Nature's Herald Nature’s Herald follows forgotten trails—through forest, frontier, and the systems that shape our lives. No noise. Just signal worth carrying forward.

We share field notes on hiking, off-grid living, and design for clarity, sovereignty, and slowness.

Missed the memo? Yesterday was —a celebration of every path that winds through wild places, forgotten history, and deep stillness.

🌿 Hawk Mountain | Birthday Dispatch from the Outer Loop
On my birthday, I stepped onto the trail not for a party—but for presence. I hiked the Outer Loop at Hawk Mountain, one of the most interesting trails I've explored in Pennsylvania with feathered friends gliding overhead.

🌧️ Two days of heavy rain had just passed, and the forest floor hadn’t forgotten.
The trail greeted me with wet stone, stream-fed crossings, and at one point—a full pond across the path. Nature made no apologies. It simply asked for adaptation.

🪨 The route:

River of Rocks Trail → Golden Eagle Trail → Skyline Trail → Lookout Trail

4.56 miles | 1,057 ft elevation

The Golden Eagle Trail offered the steepest climbs, a test of balance and breath

The Skyline Trail was a boulder ballet—4-point rock scrambles with sweeping drops and cinematic views

The canopy whispered. The rocks offered no shortcuts.
This wasn’t just a hike—it was a myth in motion.
Every ascent reminded me: You get older. The mountain doesn’t care. Climb anyway.

📍Trail Notes from the High Peaks
I’ve had the privilege of working with —hiker, coach, storyteller, and lorekeeper of the ADK46.
James is the real deal. Not just for the trails he’s walked, but for the way he walks with others.

A guide in both bootprints and belief.
A coach who reminds you the summit isn’t the only destination.
A keeper of Adirondack legend who carries the weight with grace.

🌿 A quiet shift has taken root…

Nature’s Herald has shed its old form. Once centered on food and lifestyle, it now walks deeper paths.

We’re turning our lens toward forgotten trails, off-grid living, slow systems, and the wild intelligence of design shaped by nature.

If you’ve ever paused mid-hike, stared into the woods, and felt the world speak — you’re already one of us.

Come walk with us. Between trail and terminal.

Flowers grow in many shades, but this cauliflower is like a bright purple gem in the vegetable world! On top of that, the color is natural and is not dyed. Some say the purple variety is slightly less bitter than the white.

You can find it in Farmer’s Markets and some grocery stores this time of year and it can be used in the same way as white cauliflower, even raw. Imagine a pop of this color on your next charcuterie board or party platter of veggies!

Even though summer is turning to fall soon, there are lots of ways to enjoy seafood and beach activities. One of our favorites is the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival in New Hampshire. This year it’s happening September 8-10 and it’s a wonderful way to enjoy the boardwalk and so many foodie offerings!
