Something a little different, a tray with a removable bottom.

Need opinions on whether to finish the removable piece with flat or shiny varnish.

Edited to add Iโ€™ve decoupaged the rope bottom before but first time Iโ€™ve done a wood circle. I like that You can remove it and just have the plain rope bottom. Thinking ๏ฟผ I may offer replacement bottoms to switch out also. This was something I saw on one of the pages I follow. Get so many great ideas from all the other ropers out there. Hopefully they get some from me sometimes too.
