It's habitat season!!

Just got my Calendar framed and it looks great. Put it 20x30 poster frame for a perfect fit.

Sorry Adam, no bar oil is getting on this one.

Looking forward to getting out with these two girls and enjoying nature.

Rut stand update: already got a doe coming through. This may end up being a good spot

Going to scout a new spot on my farm this weekend. On the map it looks like a nice pinch point between a steep draw and a finger ridge. The pinch is right below a bedding cut that was put in 2 winters ago. I'm hoping to hunt this area in the evenings so the falling thermals will pull my scent straight back down the draw I use for access. I will try to shoot some video of the spot while I'm there for an update Monday.

We had a pretty good rain last night. Today I found these two limbs in the yard. The first came off this older more mature tree that was widowed from its partner by a tornado 3 years ago. The second from a younger tree that is competing with two larger hickory's. The first limb has about 15 inches of new growth while the second has about 2. If you want larger healthier oaks that produce more acorn, fire up those chainsaws and give those trees room to shine!!

I started the NDA's Deer Steward 1 last week. Let me tell you, this is no joke. It's been a long time since I've been in a classroom and this brain don't retain like it used to. Luckily, this online format allows you to watch the segment's multiple times before taking the quizzes. If your wanting to learn more about habitat, deer and hunting I highly suggest it. Just make sure your ready for that first quiz or it will surprise you!!
