Before my first pop-up market I set a few “easy” goals for the day. One of those was to make some contacts and in turn hopefully get a custom order.
Then along comes the cutest couple with a brand new baby boy who liked the sample quilt I had on display and wanted one to match his nursery!
After a few weeks of back and forth emails to get all the details settled we landed on this. I’m proud of this quilt for a few reasons…
First of all, it’s my original pattern that I designed and wrote! Secondly, they decided to up the size from the original 45x45 which meant I had to rewrite the pattern to accommodate the new math and let me tell you, that’s a big deal for someone (me!) who isn’t so great with the math. 🤪 Finally, this was my first custom commissioned piece and it makes me so happy to know that it went to a happy place where it will be loved and cherished for years to come. The father told me about his childhood quilt and how it’s so threadbare that it isn’t really useable anymore. I hope the same can be said of this one in many years to come.
Thanks, Kristin Sirois Hensley for the opportunity to create something so special for your sweet boy!
I have since done other custom orders and I’d love to create something for you! I love the whole process of helping people make their visions come to life and get a cozy quilt in the hands of everyone!
And, as always, thanks to Amy The Uncommon Bobbin for the beautiful longarm work. Send her your quilts!
