Highland Rose captures the scent of sun-warmed rose bushes, fresh-cut greens, and the simple joy of childhood exploration.

Sparkling yuzu blends with sweet rose and geranium to evoke the impression of a freshly bloomed rose garden.

Clary sage, fir needle, cedarwood, and frankincense add earthy and gentle depth, creating a scent that feels natural and grounded.

The cobalt blue bottle had a hang tag that said, “signed.” Despite being unable to see the faint signature, I was instantly drawn to the stunning beauty and originality of the piece and had to take it home.

A quick image search revealed it was quite the local artisan find! PNW glass artist Roger Vines is known for incorporating Mount St. Helens volcanic ash into his artwork. Turning destruction into a luminous legacy.

Vines discovered that the ash could be used as a flux in his glass mixtures, creating a distinctive texture and luminous quality.

Although I can’t confirm if my particular piece is made from the volcano’s eruption, it’s very possible the iridescent “oil spot” finish you see is derived from the smoke, minerals, and ash. His signature technique layered glass shards that were melted into the surface and worked by hand to create an iridescent, almost otherworldly shimmer.

It’s the perfect little treasure for my studio, and a fitting commemorative piece as Washington remembers one of the most impactful natural disasters that happened in the PNW 46 years ago this week.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what’s available now, what’s on preorder, and what’s still coming.

Currently available for preorder:
• 15 ml perfume spray
• 50 ml parfum spray
• Roll-on perfume
• Reed diffusers

On Friday, May 1:
• 2 ml perfume sprays
• Room sprays
• Car freshies
• Refills

Instead of rushing the full collection at once, I'm releasing Palo Santo in stages to help process orders more efficiently.

The 8 oz candle is currently being retested and anticipated to return end of May to ensure optimal performance before release.

One of my favorite childhood pastimes was going to my great grandmothers house to look for golf balls and smell the roses dotting the south side of her home.

The sheer beauty of the Earth that surrounds us is immensely soul fulfilling. Sun Top is one of my favorite fire lookouts, not only for its breathtaking 360 degree views, but as one of the few you can drive right up to.

I encourage you to step outside for Earth Day and really breathe in the air and see the life around you. The tiny details from squirrels building their home or how delicate and necessary the morning dew is.

I’ve vowed to keep Rain City Rae's free from GMOs, soy, phthalates, and parabens - ingredients known to disrupt hormones and harm the environment. And with your help, every April I donate a portion of sales to a non-profit environmental organization to help spread awareness and ensure our Earth remains protected for all life forms.
