So, long post, titled, " I can get it cheaper at Amazon/Walmart"
So two instances this week I wanted to share with you. Number one, had a customer sell a pretty large collection to us this week, with some really unique pieces. One, a mil surp rifle, that was somewhat difficult to find in its original condition. We have a customer who likes those rifles and we literally went through two months of 4473 forms to find his phone number to make him aware of this rifle and give him first right of refusal. It could have gotten stuck on the shelf, and someone would have bought it, but we try to go the extra mile for our customers. Would Walmart or Amazon do that for you?
Second example this week was a gentleman who had forgotten he had a s***t tournament Friday. He needed 6 cases of s***t loads. We didn't have it. I said hang on, and got his phone number. I called our sales rep from Davidsons Distributing in Greensboro and told him my conundrum. He found me 6 cases of s***t loads and had it ready for pick up in Greensboro in two hours. I picked it up for the customer and he had his s***t loads, and will sleep better tonight knowing he's got what he needs before the tournament.
Bottom line is this. 1) We try to help our customers anyway we can, if at all possible. Amazon and Walmart might have it in stock, and it may be here tomorrow, but when you need a favor, or help with your ball team, or a firearm, they won't be there for you. We will.
Think twice about spending your money with big distributors. In the end, they aren't gonna help you when you need it the most.
