The Limestoner Fly Fishing Competition & Fundraising Banquet brings our community together to support coldwater conservation efforts here in PA.

They’re currently looking for teams to compete and for community donations to support the cause. It would be great to see some familiar faces involved.

This event directly supports efforts to protect Big Spring’s headwaters from the proposed AAMPA warehouse, a project that would increase runoff, reduce groundwater recharge, and put the creek’s water quality and flow at risk.

Join for The Limestoner Spring Fly Fling on April 25th for your chance to win incredible prizes while supporting clean and cold water.

Teams of two anglers will compete on the waters of the Cumberland Valley in this fly-fishing-only friendly competition. There will be grand prizes, raffles, auctions, food, drinks, and fun for all ages. If you don’t want to fish, that’s ok! An option for banquet-only attendees is available. Tag a fishy friend you think could win it all.

Social hour and a casual banquet will follow the fishing competition. Take your waders off, grab a beverage, and enjoy the evening with other passionate fly fishers and conservationists.

Pre-spawn smallmouth fishing is right around the corner! If you're heading out this spring to chase some big bass, the Craw Changer is a great fly to keep around. This variation of the OG is slightly smaller than the original and features a jig shank with a tungsten bead to get that fly down deep. Tying these in tan, brown, and rust are great choices in the spring as crayfish take on their spawning colors, but olive is also always a safe bet!

George Daniel's Sculp Snack is one of the top-producing jig streamer patterns for us here at the shop. Tied in olive, tan, or brown, this fly is an awesome Sculpin imitation, but a white/silver/pearl color combo also makes for a great general baitfish pattern. This is a quick and easy tie, so you can quickly fill up a box with variations of this deadly pattern!
