Spring has sprung and that means it's time for the annual Antique Show in Hermann, MO. Great venue with lots of vendors. If you like American Country Antiques, this is the place to be. Hope to see you there. We'll be featuring the items shown below which include two painted pieces, an open top cupboard we found in Tennessee, and a great drysink we just found and one of the best spoke wheels we've seen in a long time. Our next show is coming quickly. We will be returning to Sandee Millett's "Old Summit Country & Vintage Antique Show" in Kansas City on Saturday, June 23, 2018. This is a great show which we always enjoy. The Show runs from 9AM to 4PM on Saturday, and is held at the Pavilion in John Knox Village (400 NW Murray RD). In addition to our recent find of the Wooden Cannibal Bowl, we also have a few other recent additions including the ones in the pics below which we found this past weekend. The dough box in red paint is simply wonderful.

It's time for our next show, and it's one of our favorites, The Hermann Antique Show in that great little town on the Missouri River, Hermann, MO. The show opens at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 21, and closes at 4:00PM. We'll be bringing some great Americana for you to see including a combination linen cabinet/desk, a scale model of a New England Fishing Skiff and two incredible Red Wing Stoneware pieces that we found just last week. It's already time for the first show of 2018 at Arthur, Ill, and we are almost ready. The date is Saturday, March 3, from 8-3PM. Like always, we'll be at the Otto Center where we focus on Country Primitives and Early American Antiques. We have lots of new inventory as shown below. We are particularly fond of the diminutive Pine Harvest Table which we believe dates to the early 19th century. It features a bread board top with a single frieze drawer.

We are also bringing an assortment of coffee bins which we think you'll find interesting, along with an incredible primitive corner cupboard.

Regardless, we hope to see you there. Be sure and stop by the booth and say hello.

Hi Folks,

It’s one week to our first show of 2018. Don’t know about you, but we can’t wait. It’s the Old Summit Country Antique Show which is held at the John Knox Pavillion in Lee’s Summit, MO.

The date is Saturday, January 20, 2018, and the show runs from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Don’t hesitate to visit the Old Summit Website or to drop us a note if you have any questions.

We’ll have a full booth, but one item we really like is the beautiful old cabinet shown below. This cabinet belonged to the Walter Freund Bread Company which was founded in 1856 by Moritz and Jenna Freund who had just immigrated to St Louis from Pilsen, Bohemia. The Freunds were famous for their Bohemian Rye Bread which they served to Union Soldiers during the Civil War. Their first shop was in the Soulard area of St Louis, and in 1921 they moved to the corner of Taylor and Chouteau in the City. Alas, the company ceased to exist in 1972. The dimensions are 50” wide x 30” high x 23” deep

Our last show of 2017 will be on Saturday, November 11 at the Otto Center in Arthur, Illinois. We'll be bringing a number of new pieces including a dry sink in old green/mustard paint which we found this week on a trip to Wisconsin, and our favorite find of 2017, a 50 # coffee box which we picked up in September at the Clinton, Tennessee Show. OKTOBERFEST in MAEYSTOWN, IL We do one outdoor show on Sunday every fall and it's this Sunday, October 8, 2017. We've seen a lot of you out there over the years, but for those who don't know, it's the Oktoberfest in Maeystown, Illinois. The show runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm, and it's just a great place to spend a Sunday in the country with booths full of good food, music, antiques, and country crafts including a blacksmith and weaver. You can find out more by looking up "Oktoberfest in Maeystown, IL". It would be terrific if some of you that have attended the show in the past could add a comment or two about the experience.

Regardless, we've stored up a lot of new inventory as you can see in the pics below. Not everything shown will be at Maeystown, as these pieces came from our latest pick run in Missouri, but if there's something that really interests you, drop us a line. Hope to see you there.

It’s our favorite time of the year, the fall show season. We only have three this year (see below) but the first is upon us. But be advised that Betty Brandt has The Old House in Hog Hollow decked out and ready to go for that show which will be held on Saturday, October 7. There will be a lot of new country vendors this year, so head for Hog Hollow on Saturday, and then come visit with us at Maeystown on Sunday October 8.
