🍞Embracing the summer slow-down. This honey-oat bread is a go-to for our household. Made with simple, whole ingredients, with minimal effort. We love to have it toasted with eggs in the morning or for pool-side sandwiches! The recipe makes two loaves- I love to pop one in the freezer for the following week!
Honey Oat Bread
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add 1 cup oatmeal, remove from heat and add
2 TBLSP Butter
1 TBLSP Salt
1/2 cup honey
In stand mixer:
Dissolve 2 pkg yeast into 1/3 c warm water
Once oatmeal mixture is lukewarm add it to yeast mixture. Mix in 2 cups of whole wheat flour and 2-3 cups all purpose flour. Knead dough (with dough hook or by hand) until elastic ball forms. Put in well greased bowl, cover & let rise until doubled. Make into two loaves and place in greased loaf pans, let rise until doubled. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
