I'm excited to share a wonderful story about one of our own, Gabby Walker. Gabby is a recent Lanphier graduate, former standout athlete on the Lanphier Girls Basketball Team, and proud former mentee in the LLGI Youth Mentoring Program. She was featured today on the "Tasty Tuesday" news segment. Gabby is at Lincoln Land Community College studying Culinary Arts. While we are still looking for the official link to the segment, but Gabby was kind enough to share her recorded clip below in the meantime. Mound Bayou Enrichment Trip

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Johnson Brothers for hosting an incredible tour of historic Mound Bayou during our youth group’s Spring Break.

The youth were highly engaged—asking thoughtful questions, soaking in the history, and leaving inspired to strive for excellence. Mound Bayou remains a powerful testament to Black excellence, with ongoing efforts to preserve and share its profound impact on American history. The trip also included competition, as our group participated in a pre-season basketball tournament in Little Rock, Arkansas. They went 2–0 and brought home the championship title—an achievement we are incredibly proud of!
