Cardinal Tissue LLC, Acquires Softex Paper's US Assets in Strategic Expansion

Rock Hill, SC & Palatka, FL - 02/04/25

Cardinal Tissue LLC, a leader in tissue paper manufacturing, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Softex Paper's US assets, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Palatka, Florida. The acquisition marks a significant milestone in Cardinal Tissue's strategic growth plan and underscores the company's commitment to expanding its manufacturing capabilities and enhancing its customer offerings.

The acquisition is the result of a collaborative partnership between Cardinal Tissue's CEO and owner, Vince Reese, and Softex Paper's CEO and owner, Marcel Lieuw, who have worked closely together for the past two years. The two companies share a strong dedication to quality and innovation in the tissue paper industry, and this deal is poised to further strengthen both companies' ability to serve customers with a broader range of products and services.

Cardinal Tissue’s Constellation™ S6 turnkey manufacturing line from Fabio Perini is the first in the world to feature self-adjusting machine (SAM) technology, incorporating innovations designed to optimize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and enhance operator safety.

Recently, local dignitaries in Lucca, Italy, honored Mr. Fabio Perini for his pioneering role in establishing the Lucca Tissue Valley— now widely recognized as the “World’s Capital of Tissue.”

The award ceremony, held in Lucca’s largest movie theater, featured a documentary highlighting Mr. Perini’s life, challenges, and remarkable achievements.

On behalf of all of us at Cardinal Tissue, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Perini on this well-deserved recognition. The equipment that bears his name has been instrumental in our company’s success, and we are deeply grateful for his contributions to the industry.

P.S. Those of you in the “tissue world” who know Cardinal Tissue’s CEO, Vince Reese, probably also know that he idolizes Fabio Perini. Meeting his hero last year at Tissue World in Miami was undoubtedly one of Vince’s best days ever. We have a feeling Mr. Perini won’t ever forget Vince…or his jacket! ❤️
