Happy New Year, friends! I’m a little behind the times, I know. Here’s my first quilt of the year…a little baby BQ. I’ve made the 18” square BQ dozens of times…this is the first time I’ve done the 9” squares. It won’t be the last…it was fun!

Thank you for trusting me with your quilting projects. It has been my joy to be part of your creativity, seeing your visions come to completion. I love being on your team!

I'm finding it necessary to make some adjustments to my business policies. Please note the following:

It's been eight years since I've had a price increase, and the time has come. My base price has increased 1/2 to 1 cent per square inch. (On a 60" x 72" quilt the increase would be around 10.00.) My thread and batting costs reflect current market and shipping costs.

PLEASE make sure your batting and backing are 8" wider and 8" longer than your quilt top. Your quilt backing must also be SQUARE and neatly pressed. These things are essential to creating the best outcome for your quilt. If your quilt backing does not meet this criteria, I'm afraid I will need to return your project to you. I will be happy to reschedule an appointment when your backing is ready. (There are many YouTube videos available that show you how to square a backing. If you'd like me to show you, please call and we'll set up an appointment free of charge.)

If it is challenging for you to get out to my house for drop off/ pick up, I'm flexible with other options.

Again, thank you for your trust over the 11 years I have been quilting. And thanks for understanding.

I finally stopped being so protective of the quilt on our bed. I decided to wash it in warm water and throw it in the dryer. As I was putting it back on the bed, I felt pretty sad that it was no longer smooth and pristine looking. I expressed that to my husband and asked him what he thought. He said, “It looks loved and like we live here.”

And he’s right. Lesson learned! ☺️
