I am in total disbelief that I am posting this...
With a very heavy heart, today my father, William Dominik Kridle passed away at the age of 77, retired 35 year UMWA mine worker and served 3 active duty years in Vietnam in the US Marines
I know I have not been posting a lot but spent pretty much the entire last month and a half (2 weeks after moms passing) with dad in and our of the hospital, ICU 3 times with so many questions that the doctors could not figure out. If you did not see, Dad took one of his episodes at Mom's Celebration of Life and this has been going on for a couple of months prior. After the 5th stop in hospital one of the doctors approached me with an idea because he was a complete medical mystery on why all this was happening after tests, more tests, and even more tests, and wanted to do a risky spinal tap to get fluids because she saw something like this before in a very rare case. FINALLY one doctor was able to figure it out and he had what was called Encephalitis.
This is an inflammation of the brain tissue usually caused by a viral infection, when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the brain and central nervous system.
Unfortunately, by the time this was found and after 10 days of meds, and having to intubate him (also feeding tube) which he did code on me once, I had to make the very hard decision to stop everything to honor my dads wishes were on Sunday morning.
Dad is going to do the same as mom with just cremation and no viewing or services.
We all know we lose the people we love, but losing both of my parents in less then 2 months... There are just not words... and now truly alone. I know I kept a lot of this under wraps due to I still have not processed my Mom and wanted to focus on getting my father better, but 2 battles were lost.
I appreciate everyone who has reached out to me, and I know over the next few weeks some decisions on some major things are going to be made as I start to process all this over time. You're back with your loving wife. Mom reached our her hand this morning and took you back to her!
As of now the shop will still remain closed but I promise we will be open for our One Year Anniversary Sale at the end of next month.
Thanks Everyone
