This weekend we’ll be vending on both sides of the state line. On Saturday we’ll be at the KC Collector Expo at the Stoney Creek Hotel in Independence, and on Sunday we’ll be at the Northeast KS Card Show in Lawrence. Both are single‑day events, and there’s also a two‑day show in South KC sponsored by Relic Auctions.

If you haven’t been to the KC Collector Expo before they really nail the retro vibe, with everything including tcg, video games and toys which we personally love. It’s also that shows first time being in a larger venue which was way overdue. Then the Lawrence show has always been our go‑to event since it’s where we first started vending, and the Relic show continues to be a strong TCG and sports card event that we wish we could be at but the prior commitments made it impossible for us.

This was our first time traveling for a Pokémon show, so every customer we met was new to us. We heard a lot of compliments about how organized our table was, and we take real pride in maintaining that. Seeing each face light up when they find that one card makes all the effort worth it. There’s a lot of planning that goes into setting up those moments, but this short video offers a glimpse into the method behind our madness.

Three big shows are hitting the KC area this weekend.
We’ll be set up at the free GAS Show at the Overland Park American Legion 370. It’s a Saturday‑only event, and I’m told they’ve redone the floor layout and even removed some vendor tables to help manage the capacity crowds. The good news is the other two shows in town should help spread things out to give people more elbow room.
Those are the Shake N Bake Sportscards in Olathe, always a great event, and a Collectors Expo that’s paired with a reptile show, which should bring in a wide mix of attendees.

Appreciate everyone’s patience while we took the past few weeks off from vending to wrap up 5th grade and kick off softball season. We’re now gearing back up with a show next week in St. Louis, followed by a full slate of KC shows in June.

To get ready, we’re reopening our trade block tomorrow. Like before, we’ll be trading sealed for singles at 1:1 valuations. These trades have always been popular and the best items move fast, so consider this an early heads‑up.

To keep things fair, we’ll post full details tomorrow at noon and will only accept trade proposals after that. If you want to prep your side ahead of time, here’s what we’ll be looking for:

• Near Mint cards only
• Modern IRs and SIRs $10+ from any set released since Surging Sparks
• Promo cards $10+ from any era
• Any $3 and Up - Pikachu, Eeveelutions, Gengar, Charizard, Snorlax, Mew, Mewtwo, Mimikyu, Charmander, Dragonite, Rayquaza

We try to be very accommodating and easy to work with as long as trades stay within those guiderails. It’s a huge help if you avoid duplicates and have your cards loaded into Collectr or TCGplayer so we can quickly evaluate whether the trade fits the parameters.

Fortunes Favor the Bold
This past Sunday was unreal, our customers pulled back‑to‑back‑to‑back SIRs, including two from Ascended Heroes and a Mega Zard with a wild miscut error. The Zard came out of a discounted ETB because the wrap was blemished. Check out the montage video and you will need the audio turned up for the Charizard hit.
IRs were popping all day too. It honestly felt like we were dealing blackjacks nonstop, and we couldn’t be happier for everyone who hit big.

If any more dragons land at our table we may rebrand into Dragon’s Landing.
