The Flower Box is going to a new family! Jeff and Lindzee started this Little Free Library during the pandemic and have LOVED filling it with our favorite books and meeting so many more of our wonderful neighbors. We recently sold the house the Library lives at (we needed a bigger one to accommodate our growing family!), but we’re happy to report that the home’s new stewards, Austin and Caralyn, will happily be continuing the Library.

We’ll miss you, Puget Ridge! Keep reading. ♥️

In case you missed in Stories, we’ve got a LOT of new kids’ books (for all ages!) for the library!

We’re slowly adding them as there is space, but if you see something you’re interested in, let us know and we will put it out with a Reserved sticky note. 📚

It took us a minute, but the Flower Box is back in action! Currently stocked with tons of great adult bestsellers, but could use some more kiddo and young adult books. Enjoy!! 📚

📚 New book alert! 📚

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett will soon be made into an HBO limited series (think Big Little Lies) — and for good reason. The book explores race, class, and gender as it follows a light-skinned Black teenager (and identical twin) who decides to live her life passing as white.

It’s a bit slow at first, but after about 100 pages I couldn’t put it down! Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for a timely book that is entertaining, educational, and ultimately hopeful. It’s in the library now!

Little surprise today: fresh avocados! All are ripe or jusssst about there. Enjoy! 🥑🌞

Hi, neighbors! Meet The Flower Box — a Little Free Library that we hope will bring you a little bit of happiness in the midst of this strange world we’re living in. 🥰

The Flower Box was built by a couple of newlyweds (Jeff and Lindzee, who I can’t tag for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️) who spent their “honeymoon” building this happy wooden box instead of beaching in Central America. It’s a long story, but our central Mexican destination wedding (and subsequent honeymoon) didn’t quite go according to plan thanks to COVID-19. It was a huge bummer, but rather than dwell, we decided to focus our energy on doing something to support the place that’s become more important to us now than ever before — our West Seattle/Puget Ridge community.

The whole thing was built using things we either already had or found within the neighborhood — the most important of which was Lauren of Station 7! She donated her supplies, time, and incredible talent for other West Seattleites to enjoy. We are so thankful to her!!

We have big plans for The Flower Box, including themed months and art projects for the kiddos. For now, we’re just going to focus on getting some great books inside (look for those tomorrow!) We hope you love it as much as we do!!
