Plumbing & structural disaster 🚨🪠💧
This photo highlights why hiring a licensed contractor is so important. The individual hired for this job completely botched the plumbing installation and compromised the home’s structural integrity by cutting through floor joists. Poor workmanship like this highlights the need to complete a comprehensive home inspection to prevent future out of pocket costs.

Welcome to the Mold extravaganza🎡 Although the presence of mold is not included in a State of New Jersey Home inspection, it is all to often mold hiding behind walls, under floors, and in basements across the Garden State. 🌧️

Mold is far more than a cosmetic concern. It can negatively impact indoor air quality, trigger allergies and asthma, and often points to ongoing moisture issues that may lead to more serious issues.

Brown water? Low pressure? Older home?
You might be looking at aging galvanized water supply lines. Over time, galvanized piping can corrode, restrict water flow, and leach heavy metals into your drinking water, creating both performance issues and potential health concerns.
Not something you want coming out of your tap or shower!

Pictured above is a galvanized water main that’s well past its service life. Galvanized piping corrodes from the inside out, reducing flow and increasing the risk of leaks. This pipe is moments away from turning this basement into an unwanted indoor swimming pool.
A great reminder of why thorough home inspections matter.

Who needs foundation walls? 🧱 Apparently this homeowner thought they didn’t.

The foundation walls around the crawlspace were removed to expand the basement, leaving the remaining basement walls and even the chimney footing undermined.

This is a major structural and safety concern that requires immediate evaluation by a qualified structural engineer.

It’s gonna blow! 💣💥 This rubber washing machine hose is one load away from turning your laundry room into a swimming pool! 💦

Rubber washing machine hoses can crack, bulge, and burst over time, especially under New Jersey’s fluctuating temperatures.

Always install stainless steel braided hoses🚰 they’re reinforced to handle pressure, resist kinks, and last much longer. A small upgrade now can prevent a big leak later!🛁🚿
