Today was one of those days that reminded me why I started Whispers of Warpaint Book Bar in the first place. 🥹📚

I got to meet the lovely Debra Chandler, the winner of our Blind Date with a Book Bundle giveaway, and deliver her bundle in person today! I may have shown up a little flushed, frazzled, and running purely on caffeine and determination 😂 but she could not have been sweeter or more supportive.

We had a little chat about books and some exciting things she has coming up! Hearing her enthusiasm for what I'm doing with WWBB genuinely meant so much to me. 💛

Debra is going to do an unwrapping of her mystery bundle over on her personal page, and I'll be sharing it here afterward because I cannot WAIT to see her reaction when she finally discovers which book is hiding inside. 👀📖 I really hope you love it, Debra!

And speaking of books...

I also stopped by The Route Cellar to restock a bit today and nearly fell over when I saw our shelf. 😂 You guys have been BUSY! There were only FOUR bundles left, so I added everything I had ready today and clearly I need to get back to my wrapping table ASAP. I'll be adding more there and at Smith's 66 Mercantile on Tuesday evening.

Every bundle purchased, every share, every kind comment and every person who tells someone else about our little book business means more than you know.

📚 RESTOCK INCOMING! 📚

Y’all have been keeping our shelves BUSY lately, and we’ve gotten word that some of our selections are getting a little bare. 👀😂
So I’ll be spending some quality time with books, wrapping paper, and entirely too much tape getting fresh Blind Date with a Book bundles ready for you!

🌿 The Route Cellar will be RESTOCKED Sunday (tomorrow) afternoon!

🛍️ Smith's 66 Mercantile will be RESTOCKED late Tuesday afternoon!

And yes, we heard you. More fantasy bundles are incoming. 🐉✨📚

Every single bundle that leaves one of these shelves still makes me ridiculously happy. Thank you for continuing to shop small, support local, and give all these books new homes.

Keep clearing those shelves and I’ll keep filling them. 😉

A quick note about AI & Whispers of Warpaint! 📚🤖🎀

Alright, so I'm going to post about this just once here as I've seen a couple of comments, and have even received a personal, quite disturbing 😶‍🌫️, message regarding my occasional use of AI-generated images for WWBB. I wanted to address it because I actually understand where the concern comes from, I really do.

I absolutely 100% support artists, writers, designers and other creatives being paid for their work. If we're talking about corporations or established businesses with marketing budgets choosing AI simply because it's cheaper than paying a human artist, I understand the criticism.

But Whispers of Warpaint isn't a corporation with a marketing department. It's me. 😂 I'm literally just a girl who loves tea & books. 💁🏼‍♀️

I'm a single mom raising two boys, including a child with additional support needs. I'm back in school, managing a household, building this business from the ground up, and currently operating on a budget where even a Canva subscription isn't something I can justify every month & have even less time to become skilled at it quickly.

I am, however, a creative person with approximately 87 ideas in my head at any given moment and absolutely no graphic-design department to hand them to.
So yes, I have used and will continue to use AI as a tool to help me turn those ideas into a flyer, an event graphic, or an image for a post that I otherwise wouldn't have the time or money to create. I will do so until I have the resources and contacts to do otherwise.

I understand that some people choose not to support AI-generated imagery at all, and I respect that. I also hope there can be some room in this conversation for very small businesses starting up and people who simply don't have access to the resources larger organizations do.

As WWBB grows, I would love to reach a point where I can commission local artists and designers and actually put money back into the creative community that I love. That's a goal for me okay it is not something I'm opposed to at all! Until then though, I'm working with the resources I have on hand.

If a local artist or designer ever wants to volunteer or collaborate on something with WWBB, my door is absolutely open. But I also won't ask creative people to work for free simply because I can't currently afford their rates. Their time and talent have value, too.

Whispers of Warpaint has always been about stories, creativity, community and making something meaningful out of what you have. Right now, this is part of how I'm doing that. ❤️📚

SURPRISE 🎀 WWBB IS POPPING UP ! ✨📚
Apparently Past Me was very ambitious and signed us up for another event back in May… and Present Me almost forgot about it. 😂
But! Whispers of Warpaint Book Bar will be at the Burnett Bash on Saturday, August 22nd from 5–9 PM at the beautiful historic Burnett Mansion in downtown Sapulpa! 🏛️📖
We'll be bringing along a selection of our Blind Date with a Book bundles, handcrafted dry herbal tea blends, bookmarks, and other little WWBB goodies for you to browse while you enjoy the evening.
The Burnett Bash will also have local vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, vintage cars, and apparently a giant cake, which feels like a perfectly reasonable reason to attend all by itself. 😂🍰
And I have to admit… a historic mansion + books + WWBB has already gotten the wheels turning in my head. 👀
I'm thinking historical fiction. Romance. Characters. Maybe Costumes. A little interactive storytelling… Bridgerton vibes!
But that's a conversation for another day. 😏📜🥀

Saturday Market went SO WELL this morning 😁🌹📚 I love getting to see my fellow vendors, those I even call friends now, and of course all of the people out here buying local and supporting small businesses keeping our dreams alive. I'm beyond grateful and somehow still shocked every time I run low on bundles. It happens almost every time, but each time I'm just so surprised and want to cry! 🥹 These are bills being paid, supplies being bought, gas in the car, my kids getting what they need like all the things this single mama couldn't do without the extra support from you all. So I'm just beyond grateful. 🥲 Tomorrow, I'm going to put a few more bundles in The Route Cellar downtown to keep it stocked since we've had quite a few sales there as well. The Sapulpa reading community just blows my mind, I pray that with these steady numbers and reports that I'll be submitting for our loan approval next year that we'll be able to secure funding to open our own spot here in town! Until then, please continue supporting our WWBB shelves/markets/events and spread the word to family and friends. The Route Cellar shelf has been restocked! Come find your next favorite read and don't forget to grab a tea! ⚔️🐉📚

Smith's 66 Mercantile is still a new location for us and our shelf is located upstairs so while we've had a few bundle sales, we do not need to restock quite yet this week. Definitely go check out that shelf if you haven't yet!

Thank you to everyone who has bought our bundles, requested custom orders, gave words of encouragement, and told their friends/family about us. It means so much that others share the love of books and magical things, especially in this world today. Never lose your whimsy! ✨🌹🌙

📚✨ WWBB Update! ✨📚

Happy Monday, Book Dragons! 🐉📖
It's been a busy week behind the scenes, and I wanted to share a few exciting updates!

📦 Book Bundle Restocks ~ I'm hard at work wrapping more Blind Date with a Book bundles and getting them ready for our retail locations!
🌹 The Route Cellar will be restocked on Wednesday.
🏪 Smith's 66 Mercantile will be restocked on Thursday (if all goes according to plan!).
Each bundle is hand-wrapped with bookmarks, stickers, goodies, a review card, and a carefully selected book waiting for its next adventure.

🛒 Etsy is Coming! I'm also putting the finishing touches on our Whispers of Warpaint Book Bar Etsy shop! We'll be launching with a handful of curated bundles to start, and I'll share the link as soon as it's live.

📚 Storykeepers Society Update ✨
Our community has officially voted!
✅ Genre: Fantasy/Romantasy

📅 First Meeting: Saturday, August 29
🕑 Time: 2:00–4:00 PM

We're currently voting on our very first book, and I'd love for more readers to join in before the poll closes! I'll create the official event to get a better head count for this first meeting once the book poll closes this week.

Our Storykeepers Society has already grown to 70 members, and I'm so grateful for every one of you. Whether you plan to attend every month or just stop by when a book catches your eye, there's always a seat for you with us!
