Vintage 1960’s hooded coat

Ms. Santa Claus or Little Red Riding Hood…!?

Vintage 1960’s velvet / velveteen swing coat in the most gorgeous red :: Fabulous oversized pointed hood trimmed in contrasting black fur completes this piece! :: Loop and button closure at the front neck :: Fully lined in red satin, hood lined in velvet :: Hip pockets

Label: Neusteter’s :: Union label (I thought that this was definitely a 1950’s piece, but the union label is 1964 on. )

:: Condition ::

Very good
Some velvet crush at the lower back and back right sleeve. Light marks down sleeves, light marks down right front, some discoloration right back at crush, visible upon close inspection (which I have not attempted to remove.)

:: Measurements ::

Photographed unpinned on a 33-25-35 dress form. Due to the open swing design and dolman sleeves, this could work for a variety of sizes. (A 6-foot tall friend with 19”+ shoulders tried it on and could wear it, & it looks great on my dress form.)

Measurements were taken with the garment lying flat and the front edges just meeting.

Shoulders: approximately up to 19” shoulder (no shoulder seams)
Bust: 50”
Hips: 64”
Length: 40”
Sweep: 76”
Sleeve length: 29” from the neck
Hood Height: 10”
Hood front to back: 11”
