πŸš¨πŸ“šNew Releases of the Week for June 16th!

Kill All Wizards by Jedediah Berry is a very quick, fun, fantasy about Gotchimus, a barbarian who is on a quest to avenge the death of his brother. There's humor, mystery, misdirection, and a wee bit of decapitation. You know, just good, clean fun.

Together We See by Ari Tison is a fantastic young adult murder mystery, reminiscent of Firekeeper's Daughter. The story centers on Ula, an American-Bribri (indigenous Costa Rican), as she tries to solve the mysterious death of her father in his tribal home. While this is a work of fiction, the story draws from Tison's own experiences, along with documented and undocumented cases of abuse, corruption, murder, and more against native Costa Ricans.

Both books are 10% off at the links below for a limited time.

πŸ“’πŸ“šNew Release of the Week for June 9th!

Pool House is Mary H.K. Choi's first foray into adult fiction and revolves around the relationship of a former / unemployed actress and her almost 21 year old daughter, who is trying to figure out her place in the world. The title comes from the fact that, due to financial troubles, the two have been relegated to living in the pool house of their Hollywood home, while the main house is rented out to strangers as a short term rental. The book is honest, funny, and sad... and contains several spicier scenes, too.

And if you happen to be in New York or LA, you can try to catch Choi at Chatham Square Library in New York today (6/9/2026) at 7 pm or Skylight Books in LA on 6/11/2026 at 7 pm.

πŸš¨πŸ“š New Releases of the Week for June 2nd!

Sublimation is Isabel J. Kim's debut novel and is somewhat akin to the show Severance. It's the same world we live in now, except there's a natural occurrence where people can split into two physical versions of themselves, called instances, when they cross a border or some other line of demarcation. It deals with autonomy, immigration, and more. Really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it.

A Committee of One by Opal Lee, known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth, is a retelling of the struggles Lee has faced throughout her nearly 100 years on earth and her unwavering resilience through it all. Lee never waivers in her belief that hard work and perseverance can overcome any obstacle.

πŸ“’πŸ“š New Releases of the Week for May 26th

Phoebe Berman's Gonna Lose It by Brooke Averick is a fun, funny, and occasionally cringe-inducing rom-com about a soon-to-be 30 year old virgin who has yet to even go on a first date. Link: https://aveson.store/products/phoebe-bermans-gonna-lose-it

Every Exquisite Thing by Laura Steven is a YA-ish thriller set in a prestigious acting academy. The story reimagines The Picture of Dorian Gray, and while it starts of relatively slow, things definitely pick up and the ending is a page turner.
