My buddy Charcoal taking a rest after a meal.
He hangs out for awhile then stealthily sneaks off to wherever he goes.
For tactical purposes he never stays in one location too long.
He also changes his routes in and out frequently and is not predictable.
Usually he appears out of nowhere silently and surprises me.
A true survivalist.

This afternoon I had both of the hungry furballs out front.

Charcoal on the left and TigerStripe on the right.

I gave their them wet food separated by distance so they could both eat in peace at the same time.

They were both well behaved and ate their food before finding shady spots to sleep.

Events like this are not a big deal for Charcoal as he is used to eating out front from back in the day with Joey and the opossums.

For TigerStripe this is a big deal as he has always been the outcast and is very timid.

Charcoal is still being very sweet and even brushed up against my legs which he hasn’t done in a long time. He let me pat him and he was talking up a storm like he used to always do.

TigerStripe watches my interactions with Charcoal closely. And he let me get closer to him today to give him his food bowl. He hisses at me when I get close as I don’t think he knows how to meow like domestic cats.

This has now happened several times recently. I consider this to be great progress as the arch enemies bury the hatchet and learn how to coexist.
