Join me tomorrow night to celebrate the Earth at one of 5 events going on during the week in acknowledgment of Earth Night. Earth Night week kicks off properly with “Movie Night.” Presented in collaboration with the Dunedin International Film Festival, opening night features a screening of the documentary Mission Blue accompanied by talks with Florida Gulfcoast Hope Spot’s Ray Bouchard. I will also be doing a talk about fashion sustainability and practical tools for reducing your own footprint. Check out the other days of events too. There’s something in store for everyone!

WHAT IS EARTH NIGHT?
Earth Night is a fundraising initiative from DJs For Climate Action that harnesses the power of electronic music, its history and community, to celebrate the earth, and raise awareness of climate issues and solutions. The 9th annual global celebration will take place during the week of Earth Day.

Hey friends! I’m sure many of you saw Emma’s post about her retirement, so I wanted to share a little about what’s next for Reclaim. I spent the last 8 months really processing and grieving this change. Emma and I went hard and worked every event we could, and we had an amazing time doing it. From Tipper at Orion to our best Hulaween ever, we made sure to soak up every last moment working together. It was such a beautiful long goodbye.

From the moment we met, we became business partners. I will be forever grateful for our instant connection, the magic we created, the kind of synergy that can only be described as cosmic, and the universe for bringing us together. As I continue down this path, I want you to know that I’m still pursuing this dream I’ve been chasing in some form since I was 18 years old (that’s 21 years… shhhh 🤫).

I’m going to take a very brief hiatus for the next month, stepping away from my sewing machine, regrouping, and clearing my head. I’ll be back in April with new designs and more events. Thank you for being here. Thank you for caring about the environment (which has always been and always will be my “why”). And thank you for every ounce of support you’ve shown this dream of mine.

I love this community more than you know. 💜😘

Hey y’all. It’s Emma. I hope everyone is doing well out there. I haven’t been on social media lately & I’ve been making some big life transitions over the past year…

The past two years were some of my hardest. The loss of my home was a major incident for me so, last year, I decided that it was in my best interest to take a step back from RECLAIMthreads. I’ve spent the past eight months working with Marissa to ensure a seamless transition for the future of RECLAIMthreads.

It is with so much love and gratitude that I am announcing my retirement from RECLAIMthreads. The 8.5 years I’ve spent beside Marissa have been a highlight of my life. It was a dream we built together from the first moment we met. RT has seen us through so many seasons of our lives, several homes, relationships, states, and time zones. It’s been stressful and it’s been absolutely magical. I have endless stories of resilience, friendship, inside jokes, synchronicities, things you had to be there for, sets of a lifetime, and gratitude that I will cherish forever. Running a business and vending outdoors has taught me so many lessons and so much about myself - I am grateful to step into this new phase of myself with all I’ve learned over the years.

That said, Marissa is going to hold down the fort now and she is more than capable of doing so on her own. This is a “see you later” post, but also a big CONGRATULATIONS to Marissa. It will be a great pleasure to watch her carry our dream forward. I wish her and RECLAIMthreads nothing but success, and I will be shopping at the booth any opportunity I get!
