Yesterday, my company, PokeNerds, was acquired.
After spending the last 7 years building, innovating, and creating lifelong memories with Pokémon fans through the highs and lows of the Pokémon world, it’s a bittersweet moment—and something I’m still processing.
I’m forever grateful for everything I got to see, experience, and do during my time steering the ship.
We had some amazing times in the early days with our streams, which at the time were a brand new concept in the space, and brought fun, excitement, and community to Pokémon fans all over the country (and sometimes the world).
Then being able to build The PokeNerds Store and create a place for Pokémon fans of all ages—but particularly children and parents—to call their own.
Our events were packed with new ideas, full of life, and happiness and cheer painted the walls of that store. It’s one of my proudest accomplishments.
If life didn’t move so fast, it’s something I would have loved to have kept running forever.
( But I believe the silver lining is the reminder that nothing is forever. This life is finite, and you should cherish the moments, the people, and the spaces you love while you still have them. )
PokeNerds led the way on so many different innovations in the Pokémon community, and now this is the latest one.
If you’ve ever had the dream to try and make money with something you love, like Pokemon.. I just showed you it’s entirely possible.
Starting, building, and now exiting. This is a big moment not just for PokeNerds, but the entire industry. We compressed what normally takes 20–30 years into just 7.
Thank you to all who joined me on this journey, or quietly watched from afar.
Thank you to my beautiful wife who helped when she could, and all the employees over the years ( extra shoutout to Isabelle ).
The road to becoming a Pokémon Master never truly ends—may the spirit of a true champion always rage inside your heart!
Train on!
