New Painting Release – Sacred Rest 💜

“There is power in rest.” — Lao Tzu

This piece is a gentle reminder of something I’m still learning… how to truly rest.

A purple water lily floating on still water, Sacred Rest was inspired by the deep healing I find in quiet moments near water—and the realization that I don’t always give myself permission to pause.

One definition of “sacred” is highly valued and important. And yet, rest is often the first thing we push aside. But like the water lily that closes at night and reopens with the morning, rest isn’t weakness—it’s part of the process.

There is power in rest.

This piece is an invitation to slow down, reset, and remember we don’t have to keep pushing to keep growing.

Sacred Rest will be available later this week on my website and in my store at the Shops at West End

🎨✨It's time for the March Artist Highlight 🎨✨

Meet Jim, who I knew as a quiet engineer but, as it turns out, he’s been quietly creating some seriously beautiful art this whole time.

We used to work together, and I knew him as the smart, soft-spoken guy who always had things figured out. So imagine my surprise when I discovered he’s out here creating beautiful paintings. When I asked what he’d want people to know about his work, he said, “I’m a simple guy. I just paint pretty pictures of things I love.”

Simple? Sure, Jim… we’ll go with that. 😄

Because when you actually spend time with his work, it feels like so much more. His paintings have this quiet way of pulling you in. It’s like a reminder to slow down, breathe, and notice the beauty that’s been there all along.

And here’s something I really admire... he teaches workshops online and in-person, too. Which is amazing, because personally… I’d be like, “Okay class, step one: don’t panic when you hate your painting immediately.” 😂 So, hats off to him for that.

If you need a little more calm, beauty, or inspiration in your day, go check out his work:

Happy Monday!

As promised… they’re here!

I now have Boundless Tiny Moments available as both fine art prints and metal prints on my website (https://energeticexpressions.com/product/boundless-tiny-moment-collection/). I’m genuinely so thrilled with how they turned out.

If you’d rather see them in person (and avoid those pesky shipping fees), just a reminder, I’ll be setting up shop at the Shops of West End (St. Louis Park) this April.

And this is only the beginning. More thoughtfully designed pieces are on the way, each one carrying the same reminder: magic isn’t just found in the big, life-changing moments… it’s also living in the tiny ones, too.

So take a peek, reach out, or stay tuned... there’s more goodness coming your way.

Big news… like “tiny shop, big dreams” kind of news ✨

Starting in April, I’ll officially have my own little creative nook inside the International Marketplace at the Shops of West End. Think: a shop within a shop… where you can browse my artwork and maybe catch me painting (yes, paint may or may not end up on me).

Here’s when you can find me:

Wednesday–Friday: 4–8 PM

Saturday: 12–8 PM

Sunday: 12–4 PM

📍 Location: 1621 West End Blvd, St. Louis Park, MN
You’ll find me across from the movie theater—so technically, you could come for a film and leave with art… or just skip the movie and hang out with me (arguably more entertaining 😄).

I’ve already sketched out my next painting, and I’m aiming to have at least two new pieces plus fresh products ready for opening. No pressure… just me, a paintbrush, and a slightly ambitious timeline.

✨ Come visit, say hi, and see what I’m creating in real time. And if you want updates (or want first dibs on new pieces), send me a message or keep following along! I’d love to have you part of my next chapter.

The first half of life is learning to be an adult - the second half is learning to be a child. ~ Pablo Picasso

Last week I introduced you to my latest painting, Boundless Tiny Moments. As promised, the inspiration and meaning behind this piece is now on my website ((https://energeticexpressions.com/inspiration/story_studio/boundless-tiny-moments-2/).

The idea sparked while I was listening to Stars and Stripes Forever on the radio. In the middle of all the bold brass, the piccolo suddenly takes over the entire march. This tiny instrument becomes the star of the show; light, playful, and powerful in its own way.
That moment stuck with me.

Much of my work celebrates small miracles such as butterflies, hummingbirds, and flowers. They are reminders that the smallest things can create the biggest impact. This painting became my whimsical interpretation of that idea… a fairy dancing in the magic of tiny but powerful moments.

What I didn’t realize at first was how personal this piece would become.

When the song played, it reminded me of my grandmother. She loved that march and was so proud when I performed it years ago while traveling through Europe with a national band. When the memory surfaced, I could picture her smiling and tapping along to the music.

Just a small moment of joy in the middle of missing her.

And that’s really what this painting became about. Those small sparks of joy that show up when we need them most.

🎨As mentioned before I’ll be creating prints, greeting cards and other products featuring Boundless Tiny Moments. If you’d like to be the first to know when they’re available, send me a message.

Because sometimes the smallest moments… hold the most magic.

New painting release!

I’m so excited to introduce my newest painting, "Boundless Tiny Moments". This little magical rebel features a fairy dancing with wild, vibrant energy — on a piccolo, no less. Because why not? Go big… but like, tiny-big.

There’s a deeper meaning behind this one. It’s about finding joy in the smallest moments, even when life is being a full-on pain in the keister. (You know those days.) It’s about choosing delight anyway.

Now, before she makes her grand debut to the world, there are still a few tasks to tackle: sealing the artwork, getting her professionally photographed, ordering prints, and designing products. While the fairy is carefree... The artist? Slightly less so.

I’ll be sharing the full story, inspiration, and meaning behind this piece on my website and in my upcoming email newsletter. If you’re curious in the meantime, send me a message. I’m always happy to chat about tiny magic and big meaning.

February’s Artist Highlight – Brute Optimism

This month, I’m excited to spotlight another former co-worker who’s carving his own creative path. Brute Optimism was founded last year by Greg Bro, and it’s already making a meaningful impact.

“Every Shape Has Its Place” is the first book in Greg’s Every Shape Emotional Literacy Series, with the next installment arriving this March. The growing series helps kids understand big feelings, build confidence, and find a sense of belonging through simple, emotionally resonant storytelling.

What I truly admire about Greg’s work is his mission: helping children make sense of complex feelings through thoughtful, emotionally resonant storytelling. He’s already working on his second book, and I love seeing that kind of momentum fueled by purpose.

Greg is also offering LIVE readings, both virtual and in-person across Minnesota. If you know a school, library, or are planning a birthday party and want something meaningful and unique, I can vouch he’s an incredible human.

You can connect with him through his website (www.bruteoptimism.com), follow updates on LinkedIn (Brute Optimism), and find "Every Shape Has Its Place" on Amazon (https://a.co/d/0bhuIoal).

Go check it out and support a small business that’s putting more kindness into the world. 💗
